One of the things about losses is that suddenly everyone splurges all of their biases out and says "I told you so" using it to affirm whatever objection they have, whether it be that certain players are shit, the owners are shit, Maresca is shit, or the directors are shit, passing it out from the back is shit, not letting our fullbacks bomb forward is shit, or whatever... to some it will be final proof we should never have sold Mason Mount.

Find it all quite exhausting tbh, toxic and kind of sad. Apparently, neither manager nor players are allowed to make mistakes (even in preseason): straight to the gallows for em. A bunch of people are even now after Caicedo, saying because he made a mistake and didn't play at his best in his first pre season game that he is finished, was never good enough, and of course they've been saying it all along: "I TOLD YOU HE'S SHIT".

Also, everyone who screams we should not play it out from the back, what exactly do you want us to do instead?

There are certain ppl in here who seem to think they know more about football than any coach player or owner in the world, apparently all the top scouts nowadays should just use Google and YouTube apparently you can't go far wrong.

If Maresca can turn this into a semblence of a football side on the 18th it's something that I have n't seen before.

Much like under Poch, the team needs to iron out the individual errors. Luckily for us we are recognising them now vs seeing them once the season starts like last year.

I am intrigued to see how we play against Inter at the Bridge as I for one can not stand the pitches in America.

It was the pitch last year that did Nkunku's knee while we were in US wasn't it? These USA preseason tours are terrible prep for the season...good commercially, but a USA tour travelling around every couple of days, playing/training in hot conditions they wont get in the UK, and playing on terrible pitches that again they'll never see in the UK, is just purely for money and not to actually setup the team for success.

Fmpov it is one of the uglier aspects of modern football, everyone would rather make some millions in preseason than actually be well prepared for the season to start.

I predict pages and pages of moaning this season - some of it quite justified spending over a billion to end up worse as we settle into another mid table finish...Maresca clueless blabla...new manager blablabla....not qualifying for Europe....blabla...need a striker...blabla...need central defenders...blabla...shouldnt have got rid of so and so....blabla

With Poch it was false dawn, the friendlies - then the team could not score against real hard defences just like under Potter, until Palmer came forward.
But total disarray, one man running west, the other east we did n't see.

none of the above would happen regarding moaning  if the managers had a clue, had a system that worked and didnt spent over a billion on children who cant play in a team or even worse had 10 to 15 good games and we said YEP we will have him for 7 years!

i want this system to work or any system to work 10000% because i hate seeing Chelsea loose or even worse than loosing, playing like 7 year old kids in a playground and loosing. I for one will 10000000% say this now, Maresca will not be here by the end of the season and it hasn't even started yet. It may or may not  be his fault because of the players he has but this is becoming a club that managers come to end there careers, who has a job after being sacked by chlesea, potter? poch? lampard? that bloke who took over for 1 game after potter left?

i know this is a new Chelsea but we are becoming a joke of a club 5 year deal for a championship manager yet they give poch two years? when was the last time a manager stayed at Chelsea for 5 years?? Dave Sexton 1967 - 1974 - these owners are supposed to be good with money. they will have a 4 year payout to Maresca i bet you that!

I'm sure enzos system does work, doesn't mean in can be implemented and running like clock work after a few training sessions and 3 pre season games, I don't get get why so many people seem to think this system learning and implementing perfectly can be done with a finger click.

Ok, we talk about March-April.

Preseason is all about learning a new system. My serious concern is when the board finally decides Mudryk is not developing. Mistakes like Caicedo made can be tweeked.

Mudryk doesn't look fit to be more than an impact sub against tired legs - if he's lucky. Very poor in 1v1s and totally failing at playing on the wing tbh.

I wonder if he fancies himself playing behind the striker, given the shirt number he's taken? Bizarre.
