The Next Manager?

Recommended Posts

My issue is that, no matter who the next coach is it will be the same thing because the board are not doing their work properly. We need a project but just hire-win-loose-sack-repeat. To be honest I don't mind not winning a major title for the next three year so long as we stick to one coach who can work with young talent and have a distinct style of play like Tottenham have with Poch. I will be okay.

I'd give it to someone like Lamps for the remainder of the season. None of the names we've been linked with fit the build IMO.

Give it giggsy til end of season. Lamps? No thanks he’s no experience and that would spit in the faces of the likes of Jody Morris and guys who have been working up the ladder for years starting at u16 or whatever.

The club is gonna have to dig up Guus Hiddink or preserve his brain for when we sack managers in 30 years time.

Just keep the same pathetic cycle going instead then.

You can't just shoehorn someone into a club just because their a legend Giggs and Alan Shearer were terrible appointments.

Too early for him.
Might be the case but we should appoint Enrique instead?

I wasn't talking about a permanent appointment. Don't want Enrique coming in and Conte looks finished.

Lampard could be very beneficial for us in the future, I don't want him to start his career horribly with the donkeys we have right now.

I also dont rate Enriqure like many fans here but I would not be surprised if he is higher in Roman's list just because he won several trophies, Tuchel and Sarri for example have not. Sarri lost yesterday, it seems again Juve will win the league.

Shearer and Giggs weren't permanent you said Lampard till the end of the season. There's no point in sacking Conte we are going to finish fifth we all know it.

I would personally pick Sarri over most. Luis Enrique isn't a bad idea and I can understand why we would choose him considering his achievements. Carlo is the other outside option. I think Tuchel is a 50/50 choice.

Get knocked out of the FA Cup in the next round and play like we did yesterday against Barcelona.

No thanks

There ain't going to be a miraculous turnaround mate especially if you gave the job to Lampard. We are going to stagnate till the end of the season Conte will leave or get sacked and then we'll have another manager for a couple of seasons or maybe less. Giving the job to Lampard who was rumoured to be interested in managing Oxford yet you think he could manage us despite no experience is laughable.

I agree, he's too inexperienced for the role at the minute.

It was different with Di Matteo as he was already at the club as an assistant at the time and could probably see a number of things which were going wrong and could help change them. Same with the likes of Vialli and Gullit before them. Lampard has been gone now for 4 years, there are a lot of new players, staff, even board members who have joined or changed roles since he was last here and as a result he would be coming in like any other manager.

If you were going to go for an appointment of that ilk then the more sensible choice would be Jody Morris who has far more experience of coaching and working in such a capacity at the club. He would be far better prepared for such a role and even then it would be a huge risk in my opinion (although a very curious one as I love what he does with the youth team).

The better option for Lampard would be for us appointing a more experienced manager for the next 2 - 3 years who will be happy to work with Lampard as an assistant, to hopefully help him develop and eventually take over as manager.

I'm talking an injection of life before our season is a complete right off. Just look at what happened once AVB was sacked in a worse position.

We're going to get worse with Conte at the helm, as he going care less now. I'd prefer someone that knows the club inside & out and somehow for the remainder.

I mentioned Lamps because he's been linked with us and didn't just pull a name out of a hat.

I think in summer we should bring in Jardim, Fabinho and that scout who supposedly found Mbappe and other talent they have in Monaco. This is why I picked "other" in the poll.

I don't think we can lure Sarri, Allegri or Tuchel.

No it's a real shot in the dark by you to mention Lampard our record goalscorer and club legend. Straight out of the BT studio and into the dugout for Barcelona. It's really leftfield how about him being assisted by Drogba or John Terry ?

Someone attacking minded.

We played some good football under AVB and even that match we lost to Arsenal was so entertaining. I think we lost 5-3?

I would rather lose 5-3 than watch what I saw yesterday.

Get an exciting attacking manager

Invest big in the squad

let the manager pick his transfers

Give it time to work

The sarcasm is real. Last I checked the last two are still playing and there weren't reports of them being offered a job by the club in the immediate future.

All for a discussion that actually constructive instead of leaving the boat to sink and you've mentioned when we might still be in the top 10.
