You only need to look at Arsenal to see what damage clinging onto a manager due to past glory can do or look at United to see what clinging onto to manager's due to a misguided idea of stability can do. It may on the face of it be harsh sacking managers a year after a title win, but like with Carlo and Jose before him, all the evidence points to us getting worse if we keep Conte, not better, so it's best to get some fresh impotous in before things get really stale. We may have got a lot of things wrong down the years but the hire and fire policy isn't one of them. Thats one hellova great attraction to offer potential managers To be very honest I havent got a clue why any decent manager would eben want to come here. They must talk to our ex managers who cant give us too good of a rec. They want to know that the club trusts them and has their back when the shit hits the fan. They want to know their ideas and and opinions are taken seriously. Would YOU want to manage us if you were good?

Because it's the ultimate no lose situation which is about as attractive as it gets. They get a big chance of trophy's for the CV and because of the stigma created about Roman they get next to no blame if things go wrong. Jose left us fighting relegation yet walked into one of the biggest job in football. If he fucks up even half as badly with United his top level career will be over. I wish i could find a similar job were i will be portrayed as a genius if i do well and have no risk of damaging my reputation if i don't. I completely agree that this has contributed to our success down the years but I do also think that some patience and stability will be needed with the next appointment, assuming it is a more offensive minded coach, because the change in philosophy will be so drastic. Di Matteo, Benitez, Mourinho, Conte - the whole of this squad now has only known one type of way and that is a reserved, defensive approach as the priority. If we were to get someone like Sarri it will take time, a lot of time. Klopp and Poch have been around for 4 years now with nothing tangible yet to show for their troubles and Guardiola took a full season and huge amounts of money to get things going at City. The days of Fergie and Wenger are gone, but being prepared to ride through some rough times and give a manager 3 - 4 years to get a style of football ingrained into the players, and leave a solid foundation for the next coach is necessary. Chelsea is still an elite club, many of top managers would job on board easily. If they go with Jokanovic, it surely means they believe in him and is a good fit. Conte(Juve), Sarri(Napoli), Simeone(Atletico), Zidane(Madird), and Guardiola(Barcelona) were coaching at 2nd tier leagues before they become a known commodity at those clubs. I agree to a point. I will be on board with them getting time but they also need to earn it and show positive evidence that patince will be rewarded. If our new manager has a season akin to Klopp's first season at Liverpool then i will happily give them all the time in the world, but if they have similar results and performances to Moyes at United i will be very vocal about wanting him gone before Christmas. Thats the level of manager we are now having to look at. We will amost be as bad as that north london club soon. I cant see anyone with any sense looking twice at us. Goes for players too. It all goes to the fact we cant attract top names not even if we did try to throw money at them. Its wht we bought wonkey donkeys. All the good players we tried for gad a good giggle.MOST peiople like stability. Roman likes yesmen. IF hes going gos for this Fulham bloke its going to be a comedy. Hes not going to give him a PL and FA Cup in 2 years i I know I should be used to it by now but uts hard to deal with. Might as well just put managers and players on a 1 year renewable performance based wage.

Definitely there has to be signs of progression. If there is a season however fighting for 4th place and we just scrape it or even just miss out but it can be seen that the style of play is evolving and improving and the brand of football is enjoyable to watch then i would like to hope they would be given the benefit of the doubt to continue. That's what I've been saying. 2 years out of the last 3 we've missed out on CL football, I can live with that (for a bit). But, the dreadful football that we played wasn't worth the cost. If there were signs of progressive football, it would make missing out on the Top 4 palatable. The problem with defensive, negative (pragmatic) football, is that if you aren't winning or at least competing, it's hard to swallow. It's trophy or nothing, the cost is too high if there is no silverware.

Wouldn’t be more logical to appoint a DOF first, then a manager and then to think about the squad? I guess we’re doing things backwards. The club have their work cut out for them with the short summer this year.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Last I read Roman was going to do transfters and before that oue chief scout. But with Roman going to have his hands full peoving here his money comes from his mind and time will be elsewhere. Cant have Granny business woman a maybe but nothing to do with players. Should have been sorted a long time ago.

Costa19 858
Jesus.. Sarri´s agent is in the media this morning and begging Chelsea to pay the clause of €8M. Wtf are we waiting for? Are we gonna lose out on Sarri because we dont wanna pay for sacking Conte and Sarri´s clause? Which is about a half Bakayoko in total cost btw. Fernando 6,585
I still think Conte should stay. Hopefully the club realize this that we need to change the theme. Even after being annoyed at the style we play in the FA cup final and how long he takes to make sub. But I can get over it if next season we progress from this one. And I believe that in the third season we will have a better grasp of what the club is under Conte. And if he stays we will see that.
