Apparently he got the booking for kicking the penalty spot. How is that even a bookable offence? fuck's sake... And why can't the players keep their cool when they are a card away from suspension? Arguable and I understand, but Ivanovic had genuine grievances. Not to mention the situation and it's intensity.

Agreed the referee should. I actually don't think last night's referee knew who was and wasn't on a booking, whereas tonight there was a lot of leeway for Luiz Gustavo - Because I believe the referee knew he was at risk.

I am as sad to see Ivan missing the finale as anyone but the ref shouldn't judge based on them potentially missing a finale. If he thinks it's a yellow card, it's a yellow card. Can't have bullshit like yesterday with Gustavo. Best would be if the ref didn't know any of that.
