This isn't his private life though. He is being photographed and being put on the Internet. This picture is doing the rounds on social media with no context.

I don't mean to dump on homeless people or seem distasteful. My issue is people associating a trampy manager like him with us. While Guardiola sits on the sidelines in his designer outfits. What do you think?

Media getting under his skin over him not getting angry on the touchline. Guys not got the minerals for this club. A large % of us on here probably think the same re him being a statue when things are going to shit.

Too soft for elite level management. Also not good enough

Personally I don't thing you should give a fuck, a trampy manager? Why because he rocks a beard and did stuff for charity? So beards are for tramps now is that what your saying? Second, wtf does it matter if your wearing a flashy suit or not? Some of these points now are ridiculous!!

Wouldn't say the media are getting under his skin, it's called putting a point across which he did so very well, self control on a touchline doesn't make you a wet wipe or soft! It actually shows more characteristics then jumping around like an out of control ape. Don't like the manager all you want, but attacking the managers conduct on how he likes to behave because it doesn't suit what you want shows more about you than it does him.

Not important what a manager wears, whether it's Guardiola with his-'aren't I sexy ?' mid life crisis ripped jeans and confected husky voice for the laydees, or Bielsa in his grey tracksuit with food down the front.

Dont get how you could be so naive to think him doing nothing on the sides doesn't transmit to the players though. Like at all.

Players respond to animation on the touchline particularly when it indicates that a manager isnt happy with the performance. I mean we’ve seen this with Jose, Tuchel, Conte, Sarri here in the past years. More examples are Klopp at Liverpool, Pep at City, Arteta at Arsenal.

Its hardly anything revolutionary or new is it? Its basic body language. If things are going to shit and he‘s just going to stand there with his hands in his pockets and wait to HT or FT to get on at the players what sort of message do you think that sends to the players? I mean people complained when Frank did nothing also at the sidelines/showed no passion, anger or emotions. Its no different.

I mean where is the standards here now? Are people happy to let us significantly drop off a cliff with Potter purely because he’s English? It’s embarrassing.

Not super important but doesn't look good if you aren't getting results and you are just standing around scruffy and underqualified

That's not true, pros and ex pros have said, they don't even take note of it, and if anything it annoys them. So no players don't respond to animation in a good way at all.

Well, manager is a first person to represent the club, so I am afraid the looks matter after all.

Wasn't huge fan of Sarri's drip, but it could be laid down on his eccentricism, however now it's hard to imagine a top club having some wild dirty goblin on the sidelines, because "he knows his stuff". Even worse, if the goblin lacks both the presence and skill.

That's however not much about the Potter, as it's ridiculous to bash the guy for way he was born looking, however it's equally ridiculous to claim that body language and confidence doesn't matter in a sport that is 50% mind games with both own team and the opponent.

What Hashishi meant I think is that it's better not to let one be photographed in an unfortunate situation - remember what happened to Loew doing some wild shit with his pants and hands? It's circling around till today. The Homeless Potter is also meme worthy and surely will be used the way our very own Vesper did 😂

Thats bullshit.

I mean how many times did we see Jose, Conte or Tuchel lose the rag and our performances improve considerably afterwards? Or you going to tell me that didn’t ever happen too? Or Pep when he’s not happy with his team does he just sit with his hands in his pockets? Or does Klopp?

I suppose I can’t make a point to somebody who doesn’t want to see it.

The comparison to Low is exactly what I meant. Its even more stupid because he is going out asking for it, rather than unfortunately being candidly caught.

I absolutely think a manager can change a game, not just by being animated, but by having good tactical knowledge. I've seen Mourinho sub a mid for a def to win the game. Conte famously switched to 343 3-0 down at arsenal. In the same way all of the managers mentioned (klopp, pep arteta etc) did this to some degree.
