If we pay 30 millions for a 6 months player were a joke.

But this is why we're a million miles off from challenging for the title these days. We have people making hugely important decisions who haven't a clue what they're doing, making bad signing after bad signing.

The only consolation is we're not the only top club getting it very badly wrong.

Him & Telles would result in a solid window.

Let's see what the "mastermind" can actually get done by next Friday.

I think we have a shot at landing Dembele now that Lyon just bought a striker

not a guarantee, but deffo raises hopes a little

I'd personally prefer Cavani tbh. Dembele signing would effectively end our pursuit for Werner or someone of a similar ilk in the Summer.

Werner is not coming here, I am 90% plus convinced, maybe 95%

the only other great striker who MAY move (doubtful atm and he will be hugely expensive, and will also not come here, is Lautaro)

Dembele is the best of the lot we can get realistically hope for, unless we somehow get Shitty to cough up Jesus, but that is so not happening

unless the cough up Jesus is Pep choking on a communion wafer

we are cray to pay 25m quid for a 33yo who is on almost 20m euros a year salary (Cavani)

IF he and PSG BOTH come WAY down

then sure, stopgap is fine

but I doubt either does, and thus even 18 months of Cavani will cost close to almost 45-50m pounds  (fee plus salary)

we cannot spend like that

especially as £142m Kepa looks like he is a serious potential bust and I (despite it basically being almost a no brainer given his age and poor play where we play him) think we will NOT sell Kante in the summer (which likely is going to fuck us hard in the long run at multiple levels)

and dog help us if we miss out on CL again

Says in Telegraph article that Leonardo says Atletico havent contacted them at all since they rejected their bid.  I'd just throw the 10m at them, sign him for 18 months

He wont take 6 months anywhere, he is out of contract in June and could negotiate another move away at that time.  He'd may aswell stay at PSG and do that anyway if that were the case, or sign a pre contract with someone and join in June. anyone signing him will need to offer minimum 12 months.  Guarantee whoever he joins, he does not sign a 6 month deal

If I'm being honest, I'd have Osimhen ahead of Dembele. I've know bits about him since making his Nigerian debut and he's just gone from strength to strength (42 g/a in 62 games). He just turned 21 as well.

There's a plethora of talent that doesn't need to be overpriced because of their nationality or the perceived holy grail, HG.

In regards to Cavani, I was all on board getting him for free. We shouldn't even be entertaining the thought if PSG are really demanding £15m+.

making bad signing after bad signing.

Since we've changed our style of play we've only made one bad signing (unfortunately getting harder to keep hope with Kepa) while Jorginho, Kovacic and Pulisic have all been good and even Higuain served a purpose. The former two have transformed us from the worst midfield in top half to probably the best save for City.

More solid windows like that and we're on the right track and early signs are good Lampard has a good judgement in transfers as the two big decisions he's had to make so far (retaining Kova and letting Luiz leave) have turned out to be masterstrokes.
