Having watched Soumare a bit that's very harsh. He is about 1000x the footballer Bakayoko is. He's very composed and classy on the ball whereas Baka has the touch of a brick wall.
I just don't think we need a pure DM like him. He's really a player Arse or United should be after, not us.

Soumare is actually quite good. Have seen him play 4 times and he was always showing his Potential, especially against Ajax. Stil we already have way too many midfielders. RLC is also coming back.

I would just get sancho even if it costs us 130m...sancho gets 6 months of transition and takes over from willian in the summer

Pedro is good as backup but can leave in the summer

Somehow try and sell barkley to west ham and give billy gilmour more mins

Finalize giroud sale and keep batsman as backup...no point taking dembele for a short term fix and then be stuck with the guy like anelka...sell batshuayi in summer and get a better player like werner (dreams) or someone else and also a backup like Chalov

Sell alonso now and play azpi there for the rest of the season..buy chilwell or somone good in the summer...sell emerson in summer and promote maatsen

Cb we can wait till summer when we sell cristansen and zouma and need to buy 1 dope starter like skriniar and 1 young one like issa diop

The most contentous one would be to sell kante in the summer and starts negotiations with real right now... buy soumare now to bleed him into the team

Lastly sell deadwood like moses bakayoko drinkwater etc

 

All this just involves planning and not much of net spend

A number of things.

We are not going to spend £140m on 2 CB's (which is what Diop and Skriniar would cost)

We are not going to sell Azpi, AC or Zouma from what I have seen from Lamps

Lamptey (who may walk on a free, the Sun lied and said he had renewed) and Maatsen are midgets and are not ready for prime time at all as serious options to have lots of minutes. We cannot roll with a 5 foot 3 and  5-5 pair of fullbacks, especially as we only have a couple other taller players (Zouma, Tammy, Rudiger and when healthy (big if) RLC. Alonso is gone if we are talking about Maatsen as a LB.

If Leicester will not budge from their £80m figure on Chilwell, we are crazy to pay that.

I have large doubts we will sell either Alonso or Emerson this window, and possibly in the summer if we swing and miss on Chilwell.

I think this is madness myself as we could sell both Emerson and Alonso NOW and buy Gosens (Emerson is perfect swap material, as same age and he is Italian) plus either Telles or Grimaldo (due to release clauses), thus vastly upgrading us at LB. Makes too much sense, so it won't happen.

Chalov will not come here to be a 3rd string CF.

Soumare, if we are looking at him as a DMF is weak. See my post on his stats, where he is the 2nd lowest MF in all of Ligue 1 in terms of aggressiveness in ball turnover.

I absolutely agree in selling Kante. Time to cash in as he is utterly wasted here in Lampard's system. I can see this issue becoming a nasty brawl this summer, but he turns 30 next season and his value will plummet. He is, as I always say starting a couple months ago, now a square peg in a round hole here. If we miss out on CL again, it is vital to get his full £100m plus sales revenue to help balance the FFP books.

Gilmour is not a creative AMF.

Willy is 39yo next season, time for a new backup keeper IMHO (probably won't happen though)

We are setting ourselves up for a potential nightmare in the summer IMHO.

All our eggs are in the Sancho, Werner, and Chilwell baskets. None of those are sure things at all (and Chilwell at £80m is just foolish when we can have a far better set of TWO LB's for the same net price or less).

We also may well have Willian walk on a free, which not only is a £65m loss from the 2018 Barca offer, but then forces us to buy TWO wingers, plus all the rest of the gaping holes.

If we have to buy two wingers, plus we drop £50-60m (Lyon will rape us if they see we missed on Werner as they know we and other clubs are desperate for Dembele), or even higher on a CF (if we miss out in Werner) plus LB for £80m PLUS a DMF, then it is delusional to think we can afford to NOT sell Kante.

Add if up (and this is with NO CB, CMF, GK, or RB buys at all.)

LB Chillwell £80m (minus one of the two we now have, who go down in value each window, especially the soon to be 30 Alonso)

DMF (Soumare?) £50m

AMF (Isco?) £50m

Sancho £120m

Winger number 2 (Willian's replacement) £50m or more (if Zaha it will be more, as in £80m or so)

CF Demebele £50m (if we miss out on Werner, if Werner £25m)

3rd CF Josh Maja £15m

Total gross spend

£390m on low end

to £445m on the high

Good luck balancing the books on that without selling Kante!!!
