I said the other day he is what he is now because he is being heavily paid by the likes of Heineken, Paramount, Disney and all that jazz

You can't fault the bloke because what comes with this is heaps of cash. Romano is a brand like the people who are paying him

He is ruining his brand IMHO, at least in terms of being a reputable source.

BUT...

Maybe he now is getting a tonne more clicks, making an ever-increasing amount of revenue, as perhaps the average person just wants to see rumour-whore bollocks spewed at them daily.

I would not have a hard time believing that. Look at the state of socio-political, socio-economic affairs, especially as spun up by AI-turbocharged social media..

I see a world that has hundreds of millions of sponges (ie they soak up whatever is spoon-fed them in their silos) and stooges who love to be lied to, as long as the lying fits their world-view and comes from their 'side'.

Money does strange things to people, even the ones closest to you and the ones you love

Disasi and Sterling’s wages suddenly off the books. Wonder if we may actually push ahead with a signing in these next few days.

Give your head a wobble, we will push like a pregnant woman and in the end we will shit ourselves

Or out of nowhere Ornstein will tweet that we’ve agreed to sign the most random player possible on loan that nobody heard even a faint whisper about beforehand like he did with Bounanotte.

That would be pretty fucked up. Uproot Anselmino from Germany midseason where he was happy and then dropping him in yet another country as a makeweight. Just treating human beings as chess pieces moving around a board.

Dortmund was already tapping him up - we could have had another carney situation

🗯European football expert Andy Brassell:

🗣️ "I know Chelsea and Rosenior are interested in him [Valentin Barco]."

I’ve seen this kid’s name before but have never really seen him play. After just watching some highlights I’m kind of shocked by how impressed I am. He looks class on the ball and like a tiger without the ball in typical Argentine fashion despite his small size.

Looks very well suited to the PL.

💥Valentin Barco played as a left-back for Boca, Brighton, FC Sevilla, and again for Brighton, where he mostly failed to impress and the above-mentioned teams wrote him off.

Chelsea had him on their radar even before he moved to Brighton.

After his move to Racing Strasbourg, where he was given a new chance by Sam Jewell, he was initially used as a left-back in the first few games, before Liam Rosenior moved him to central midfield.

He is really flourishing there, playing deadly passes with great vision, very spirited, a real fighter with great technique.

He's a bit taller than Marco Veratti, but Barco's playing style and temperament remind me completely of Veratti!

Yeah, I definitely get Verratti or Vitinha vibes from watching him. Small guy with huge aggression and also silky technique on the ball with a great ability to pass between the lines.

Could be a super smart alternative in the summer to Anderson or Wharton.
