The fact that City were linked to this dude and instead decided to go and spend 60m on another midfielder instead must mean something.

Another raw, completely unproven kid making a massive step up to PL football. What happens to this dude in the summer when Santos comes back? And Ugochukwu? And if Lavia ever manages to stay fit? Sold/loaned within 6 months like all of these other disastrous signings?

Santos is way ahead of this guy or Ugo - and even then is far from a certainty to make it into PL squad next year.

They'll all be in loan army probably. Maybe Santos will stay if Lavia is perma injured, but in all likelihood he will be rotation/backup.

What is consistently baffling though is why we keep signing these players to Chelsea FC directly. Put them under the BlueCo umbrella directly at Strasbourg or buy another club in Portugal or whatever. It made more sense having a massive loan army before the rules around max loan numbers came in (at least conceptually it made sense, in execution we always just bought tonnes of shit players and lost money on them, got stuck with Malang Sarr's etc)

The deal is not for now, only for the end of the season - according to @cnnportugal.

The loan agreement between Sporting and Las Palmas allowed the Spanish club to decide whether to release the player, which was denied.

🔵Dário Essugo will join Chelsea at the start of next season.

Just trying to get a grip of the outgoings as I cannot handle the incoming 12 year olds.

Am I correct that the following has happened:

Carney - Dortmund - Loan - wages covered.

Chilly - Palace - half of wages covered.

Felix - Milan - £5m plus wages covered.

Disaster - Loan - × (£5m'ish) plus wages covered.

Caleb - Watford loan.

Veiga - £4.5m plus wages covered?

If that is the case, I think these out goings are OK. Just getting Disaster out of the door on loan is a 7/10 window. So getting a fee for him is even better. Although a sale would've made it 10/10. Only concern is that this will be the last time we will be able to send him anywhere outside of Strasborg.

As for Carney, Veiga and Felix all of those seem reasonable places for them to pop up and get good minutes. Carney in particular could easily become worth a good fee after 6 months in Germany.

As for the signings, I am giving up. We need an experienced CM. Instead we buy more kids so in 5 years time they may be top 4 level.

Sam Rak-Sakyi is expected to stay at Chelsea at this stage despite links over a move to Frank Lampard's Coventry City.

Santos still want Deivid Washington and are trying to do a loan with option move for him. Unclear whether Chelsea accept but can be done later with the Brazilian deadline after the European ones tonight.
