Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. The sample size in Duran is still small and this season he has shown nothing we did not already know. He remains a powerful, energetic young striker that is still raw but with great potential. He is a different profile to Jackson but the latter has been leading our line on his own for quite some time while Duran has mostly come on fully rested vs tired legs. His goals look great, many of them Jackson could never score but he has his fair share of misses plus I am yet to see the same industriousness.

There's absolutely zero truth in the story that Mykhailo Mudryk wants to leave Chelsea.

Mudryk has not made any decision to leave, and there are no talks taking place with any club.

Full focus remains on Chelsea and on doing his best under Maresca, while Chelsea also hope to see him at his best soon.

So there's really nothing in this ‘story’ - I don't even know where this is coming from to be fair.

Crystal Palace has been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Ben Chilwell’s services as he is pushing to leave Chelsea.

According to a report from Fichajes, Crystal Palace are keen on acquiring the services of Ben Chilwell as they look to reinforce their backline. The Eagles have received a boost in their pursuit of the English international as he seems keen on parting ways with Chelsea when the transfer window reopens in January.

Chilwell made a name for himself at Leicester City. He then secured a big-money move to Chelsea in the summer of 2020. The Blues forked out a massive fee of around €50 million to sign the English full-back. He was an integral part of their first team in the initial years and played a big part in their success.

The 27-year-old left-back was their vice-captain last season and he even led the team in quite a few fixtures in the absence of Reece James. But, even he struggled to stay fit and could only manage 21 appearances throughout the seasons.

Chilwell is no longer an important part of the Chelsea

While he still has close to three years left on his deal at Stamford Bridge, the English defender is no longer considered to be an important part of their setup. The arrival of Enzo Maresca and his recent injury struggles have seen him go down the pecking order.

The Blues were looking to get him off their books in the summer. While quite a few clubs were linked with him, Chelsea couldn’t strike a deal for his departure. Even after the end of the transfer window in England, the London club were pushing to get him off their books.

Ben Chilwell could join Crystal Palace in January

Unfortunately, they couldn’t find him a new club. The 27-year-old is well aware of the fact that he might not get any game time at Chelsea. As a result, he seeks a new challenge away from the club and Crystal Palace have emerged as a potential destination for the English defender.

The Eagles want to reinforce their backline and they could get reliable full-back in Chilwell who can contribute in both ends of the pitch. His experience and his abilities could significantly bolster the Palace squad. With the player keen on leaving Chelsea in January, Oliver Glasner’s team have a massive advantage in the race to his signature.

Darwin Núñez  (surely soon lowered in valuation I wager, as he doesnt start anymore, and is not producing, he has zero goals, zero assists this season)

If Watkins were here at Chels he would instantly be our starting CF

Watkins produced 40 total goals last season

27 goals, 13 assists

this season 4 (2 + 2) in around 3 and a half full games worth of minutes

So two strikers that the club wanted to get have come good. 

Maybe they are doing a great job in getting players. 

The only they done bad is CB...but then again they just got a free CB this summer which is better then before. So maybe they also improving that?

It is an improvement from previous windows when they went for Fofana, Mudryk for 70 million each. 

If we can offload Disasi/Badiashile and get a proper CB/RB, that would be amazing.

I think that first season was bad because of Todd and Tuchel. 

Once we have set in with proper structure it seems to me like they have done a good job in buying players. 

People here like to give heat to the owners and what not, but in all honestly they have done a real good job in improving after that first horrible first season. 

I'm glad we are no longer spending absurd money on players like Lukaku just because they are killing it at this moment. Case in point with the Napoli striker we didn't get this window because of the wages. 

It's okay we go with we have and so far it's holding well. Gives us a breather with what we have until January. 

But in general I like how they are doing business lately, and yes it's insane all these young players they are constantly buying but hey I rather they do that then buy no one. Because that way we can always sell and keep brining the next great thing. Which is what I think they want to do, kinds of like Dortmund.

That'd be way too much money to become a serial loser like Dortmund. 😅

I'm not that worried about the striker position; Jackson is a good player and Nkunku remaining fit would give us options. Once we qualify for CL again, then we can reassess as we'd need more depth in certain positions anyway.

The D still looks a bit wobbly, esp Fofana, but I like Colwill I think he has a lot of potential. Honestly, if Enzo can improve his game we'd have very few weaknesses as a team. I think Enzo does deliver good performances, but frankly I expect more from him.

It's nice to see how compact the team tries to be. That's benefitting everyone perhaps excepting Madueke with his directness (kinda unsurprising tbh).
I am of the opinion that any team who relies on Mudryk as a winger does not deserve a top4 spot, and the fact he hasn't played much this season is very reassuring.
