“Renegotiating and offering players on loan”

For the love of god, when will they learn 🤣

Lets try do something again which they rejected the first time and after they have publicly announced several times they will only accept the release clause for the player.

Also if Arsenal get Caicedo for £60m fair play good value considering the inflation in the PL market. Never worth £100m but doubt either of us gonna get him this window.

Honestly, since Benfica is so excellent at identifying and developing talent (and particularly South American talent) why don’t we offer them Andrey Santos on loan for 2 years as part of any Enzo deal? Plays in midfield, speaks Portuguese so would settle very well presumably, and is one of the most sought after Brazilian talents recently. They could develop him into a beast without spending any money, really.

He was originally offered alongside Ziyech and someone else as the 3 guys on loan plus €85m IIRC.

Maybe they don’t think he’s up to much? Or just not interested.

Because Benfica would prefer to find and develop their own player that they could later sell for huge amount of money?

Highly rated winger Julien Duranville joins Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of talented young winger Julien Duranville, who joins the club on a long-term contract.

Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of one of the most talented young wingers in Europe, with Julien Duranville joining the club from RSC Anderlecht. The 16 year old has signed a long-term contract with the Black and Yellows.

According to reports, Borussia Dortmund will pay an initial transfer fee of 8.5 million euros plus around 3 million euros in add-ons for Duranville. The Belgian U-19s international underwent his medical tests and signed his contract yesterday, and will straight away be a part of the first-team squad.

Julien Duranville is a product of Anderlecht’s youth academy, and made his first-team debut for the club soon after his 16th birthday. The winger also became the youngest goalscorer in Jupiler Pro League history in September. He suffered a muscle injury late last year, but is now closing in on his return to action.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl believes that Julien Duranville has great potential, and their job now is to help integrate him into the first-team squad.

“Julien is a fast, technically strong and creative winger in whom we see great potential,” Kehl said. “In the coming years, we want to work together to unlock this potential and promote his development – just as we have done many times in the past with young talents. Our main focus now is to integrate Julien as quickly as possible into our professional squad and the new environment, and to introduce him step by step to the level of the Bundesliga.”

Several big clubs were interested in signing Duranville from Anderlecht, but Borussia Dortmund won the race for his signature in the end. Duranville joins a Borussia Dortmund attack that already features a number of very talented young players, including Youssoufa Moukoko, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Gio Reyna. And it is no doubt a very exciting time for the club, with several youngsters playing a key role in the team.

Strange that Arsenal have gone in with 60M when after our bid the talk was 75M- They have even added any bonuses it's 60M straight

Probably hoping that since they’re top of the league and flying he’ll be so keen to join that he’ll hand in a transfer request. Maybe hoping Brighton give in and take £60m.

there are so many players who can tackle and intercept like he does with much better passing range and vision

not saying we should spend insane money on Caicedo, but please do name all these players (and they have to be at least nominally available, so no Pedri, Gavi, Valverde, KImmich, Tchou, Camavinga, etc)

Bellingham and Enzo and and Barella qualify, but all are more costly than Caicedo so they do not really count

Martín Zubimendi is not really a similar player

so..............

Manu Koné?

Mac Callister?

Matheus Nunes?

Roméo Lavia?

after those 4 I am starting to have trouble

Must be said, would be a very smart but non-Arsenal like move if they get Caicedo. It’s the kind of future thinking big move that we did with Nkunku. They want to get ahead of the competition now even though they don’t necessarily need him this season. Arse supporters have named Xhaka and Partey as their 2 best players this season so Caicedo doesn’t even go straight into their XI. But surely Xhaka will come back down to earth at some point. He’s in the form of his life after being bang average and booed off the pitch by his own fans not too long ago. So having Caicedo waiting in the wings is smart.

The club will be just sitting and watching all this and if Enzo is off and they will know that it's release clause or nothing then I fully expect us to go steaming in for MC this weekend and match the Brighton asking price.

No way Todd is sitting around to allow Arsenal to trump us, unless we have bigger fish to fry
