BlueLion. 21,491
Possibly will miss City, Marseille AND Arsenal:Frank Lampard has been ruled out of the clash at Manchester City on Saturday. The England international has still not fully recovered after undergoing hernia surgery at the end of August and is yet to return to full training.Lampard was initially only expected to be out of action for a fortnight but his recovery is taking longer than expected, meaning he will not feature in the Eastlands encounter.Carlo Ancelotti is expected to be without the 32-year-old for Tuesday's UEFA Champions League clash with Marseille and there are concerns he will not be ready to tackle Arsenal on 3rd October. The Italian, who will also be without Salomon Kalou and Yossi Benayoun this weekend, is not prepared to rush Lampard back into action and risk a further setback.Ancelotti told the Daily Mirror: "He has a weakness on his adductor, and we want to strengthen that to avoid a problem when he comes back to play."The surgery was very good. There's no problem there, but his adductor is weak. We want to avoid an injury."http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/notes/chelsea-fc/lamps-to-miss-city-clash/433837462843
NattyBlue 44
Man...Lampard I miss seeing him, tis weird without him! I think we need to drop Malouda into midfield and play zhirkov at LW until Lampard is fit

I think we need to drop Malouda into midfield and play zhirkov at LW until Lampard is fitNo way!! Malouda's been on immense form playing on that left wing, the partnership him and Ashley Cole have means our left flank is probably the best in the Premier League! Until Lampard on Benayoun's fit we'll have to rely on either Ramires, Zhirkov or McEachran occupying that Lampard role.
Rambo 1,729
Ramires will really need to step it up! I know he`s still getting used to the engish game but he needs to get a couple good games under him so he can feel more comfortable.

LDN Blue 7,903
We can confirm that Yossi Benayoun will travel to Belgrade for treatment on his calf injury.Yossi has been treated there before and the club's medical team, familiar with the procedures and confident it would do Yossi no harm, agreed that it would not adversely impact the rehab work he was receiving from Chelsea staff at Cobham. He will be accompanied by a club doctor. ChelseaFCProbably for this placenta treatment everyone's causing a big hype about?

LDN Blue 7,903
It is hoped our four sidelined players will return to action when the squad regroups after international duty.Yossi Benayoun, Jose Bosingwa, Salomon Kalou and Frank Lampard are all absent at present but assistant manager Ray Wilkins expects them all to be available by the time we travel to Aston Villa on October 16.Bosingwa has not played since suffering a knee injury on October 17 last year, coincidentally at Villa Park, but is now nearing full fitness after some reserve team action.'"Bozzy" is doing well, he's been back with the boys for 10 days now, we're still monitoring him along the way because it's 10, 11 months he's been out, but he has got himself back to a very good level now,' Wilkins explained.'He played 45 minutes in the reserves, had another 75 the other day and ideally we'd like to give him 90 minutes behind closed doors before he comes back and he is ready to be selected, but he's not far off.'Lampard meanwhile has not featured since a hernia operation at the beginning of the month.'He's recovered from the hernia but in the meantime while he was training to get back he's just got a slight groin strain and it's just given him more problems than he anticipated, and we anticipated as well, so I think after the international break we'd expect to see Frank there or thereabouts,' Wilkins said.'He joined us for a part of a training session and didn't feel comfortable so it's important we get Frank right. He's played with problems for a long period as most footballers do, so it's important now he gets himself right.'Salomon's got a slight problem and Yossi's got a calf problem, but they're only slight problems and we're anticipating them coming back into the fold around the same time.' Kostas 1,468
This has to be said. We've been bloody lucky with injuries.Alex picked a knock just before international break and even if he misses a game Bosingwa is back which will make Ivanovic available as a center back.We can hardly complain.
