Manuf 1,448
Alex > Ivanovic lately.
LDN Blue 7,903
Alex > Ivanovic lately.Only because Ivanovic isn't a natural right back. It's hard for centre backs to move to a wing position, they don't like to run up and down the flank it takes alot out of them so they become defensively weak. Although with Alex you've got that Free Kick element Manuf! Where've you been lately?
Manuf 1,448
It's not all about his free-kicks but I just rate him higher than Branislav lately. He just seems out of pace and concetration. In my picking order for centre-backs Alex is first than JT and Ivanovic. IMO Alex is one of the most underrated defenders in the world.I'm pretty busy atm. I check forum daily though. New school, friends, lot of work. I try to post just as much as I can, keeping the blue flag flyin' high

BLionheart 516
But Alex is better defensively...alex is good in the air but in any other defensive aspects terry is better than any other defender , no one can make vital interceptions/tackles like him and his positioning and anticipation is second to none so i don't think any defender should be compared with terry right now .... he is the only CB i can think of that will make your defense look good even if he is playing next to belherouz , ferera and del horno ....terry = legend

Blueboy 14
This international break doesn't come with a bad timing for us at all, many of our already injured players will miss the international matches, so they can recover in the mean time. By the time the games start again, major part of our players should have taken a big leap towards full fitness (Kalou, Lampard, Benayoun, Bosingwa coming into the squad again, Alex only 1 week left before he returns).Who is going to replace Alex at CB? Ivanovic to the middle with Ferreira/Bosingwa coming back in at RB i suppose? It would be nice to see Bruma at CB, but with Bosingwa on the verge of his return, that probably wouldn't happen. Gianfranco_Z 202
I'd imagine Ivanovic at CB and Ferriera at RB for the Villa game, maybe Bos as a sub see how it's going... then give an hour to Bosingwa in the CL and hopefully he can play most of the Wolves game too? Milan 17,957
Wasn't Bosingwa's last game against Villa away from home? It would be dangerous to play him! lol
BlueLion. 21,491
If I remember correctly it was a very innocuous challenge that hurt Bosingwa...

LDN Blue 7,903
Just saw about the Benayoun thing, big big loss for us. I think Carlo will sign an experienced midfielder in the Jan window, he has to now! We need experience in our midfield, we only have Lampard and Benayoun as the experienced guys, before we had Lampard, Ballack, Deco, Belleti & even Joe Cole. (I always said Ballack should've stayed)Now that those 2 are sidelined, only Essien is the real experienced one (and he's not even THAT experienced). I think one jan signing of a midfielder will not hinder the youth progression but just add some wisdom to our midfield
