Drinkwater looks significantly more comfortable than Gallagher in that midfield two.

Maybe it's down to situations with Gallagher not wanting to put a foot wrong, compared to Drinkwater looking to impress but he's been much more involved and his passing range is a lot more polished.

Not saying for us to keep him but if we can't shift him he could probably do a job at backup next season in this system.

Also CHO is definitely an option at RWB next season against sides we're likely to dominate as he'll stretch teams more than James or Azpi can.

Not sure how much of our chase for a new midfielder depends on shifting out the midfield deadwoods but if we get a new one anyway, then I don't see how Drinkwater will feature unless there's an injury crisis or something.

I don't think Drinkwater's problem is a lack of technique. He is vastly experienced too. He just is injury prone and mentally instable. You just can't rely on him.

dujon Sterling who is probably the one with the best chance of actually convincing TT to stay on the squad. He has shown that he is eager to impress, insanely fast, proactive thinking but a little rash. Will be interesting what TT will make of him.
