Anthony Martial

I hear you, but this is how you do it. This is how you get the top players: before they become one.

It's always going to be a risk though. That's why judging potential is so important, and folks in soccer who are good at that make tons of money.

Keep Willian. Buy Martial.

The point is to make the team stronger.

Put them on the flanks, Hazard at #10 and Morata up top.

Exactly.

It’s probably worth mentioning as well Martial is a calculated gamble. He’s struggled for consistency for almost 2 seasons now in terms of his performances but has scored 10 goals every season since being in England. It’s not as straightforward to sell William and for Martial to come in and be better as many seem to think. Even bits of that season under van Gaal he was hit and miss so it’s not exactly only Mourinho related before it’s brought up. He has huge potential but it is only potential. Somethings not clicked properly (Sanchez signing didn’t help but affecting Rashford as well) or we wouldn’t be talking about signing him as he’d be in the United team and they’d not be willing to consider letting him go too easily.

He would be a good signing if he was somewhere between 30-40m because of his age, potential but again Leon Bailey is another player I really like and if we get him or Martial they will be huge players for us in the future although Willian shouldn’t be sacrificed for either.

Chels should get both. Bailey is not ready to start for Chels week in, week out. But he could take over for Willian in two years if he continues to develop.

That sums up the two ninety minute performances in which I watched him very closely before he joined united. He was great in one and poor in the other. Has he done enough since to get excited about? Not enough for me, no. Throw in that his preferred areas of operation seem to be those in which both Eden and Callum Hudson-Odoi like to function, and I'd say invest in someone else. I know all the usual caveats people would apply to Callum, but I'm confident he'll make it. There are flaws in his game but these are of the kind that can be coached. He sometimes believes too much in his ability and either tries more than he should, or else takes more time than he has. Meanwhile, the things which can't be coached; talent and football instinct, he has in abundance.

From comments Jody Morris has made it's clear the coaches are going to work on this issue with Callum and it will be solved. He is the real deal; season after next he'll be ready to be a serious squad member, season after that he can start. Let's not block his path.

As long as we replace accordingly l think it’d be fine. For example, a double swoop for Leon Bailey who were also linked with and Martial, coming in to replace Pedro and Willian? I’d take that.

Not to mention that Jay Da Silva has won Charlton Fans' Player of The Season. Another season or two and he'll be ready to to be considered for us I think.

1000%

We have to worry about ourselves not the rest. Willian is nice and has been loyal but he is 30...

I highly doubt we can attain Martial without letting go of Willian. That's the only way United could justify selling him within the league imo, because they'd be getting a "proven" commodity in Willian. We know Willian talked to Mourinho + United last summer, so I think it's only logical that it would be a Martial/Willian swap deal.

I think it's more than obtainable, if Mou really wants Willian. Swap him for the latter and pick up Bailey for £25-35m

With Bayer not getting CL football they could be forced to sell bailey

Martial is at his best playing as left winger where he can cut in and shoot, we have hazard at that position. Unless we switch to 4231, this signing make 0 sense

Martial is a centre forward being played out of position for an idiot of a manager.
