The money would be better spent in other areas. I expect one more striker as cover for those two. Maybe Pelle will do it, along with Bertrand Traore. If we sign Morata, and play 2 uptop, Batshuayi is going on the bench. Can quote me on that
ChelseaFanUK 1,014
Get rid of the thinking that if we sign Morata aswell as Batman we are skint. Our owner is a billionaire. FFP is clearly BS. We have a lot of revenue. We are sound

Tomo 21,751
Here's some perspective for every one whining about transfers. Our busiest three summers ever in the market was 2003,4 and 5. 04 only Paulo had been signed at this stage, 05 Del Horno and 03 only two free agent back up keepers and we know what happened next every time, in fact for good measure 2014 only Cesc was official at this stage. If we are approaching the end of pre season with only Bats official then fair enough, but the panicky/bashing board comments at this stage are absolutely vomit inducing. Honestly I think are some people are just panicking because United made signings...IMO too early to do so....Conte's not even arrived at Cobham FFS... xPetrCechx 13,571
Chelsea have had an initial offer for Alvaro Morata rejected by Real Madrid, who activated their buy-back clause after paying €31m to Juve At first it seemed as though the striker would be joining Zidane for pre-season training but it would be almost impossible to guarantee ...him a place in the starting XI with the BBC of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo being such a formidable force. (Marca) The Spain international could prefer a move to Chelsea as the Blues are in the market for a forward. (Marca) His (Morata) agent Juanma Lopez was in the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu offices on Friday to try to close a deal of between 60m and 75m euros.... although the London club's initial offer of 60m euros was not deemed sufficient. (Marca) Antonio Conte, who was also at Juventus, wants to play him alongside Diego Costa and it seems owner Roman is willing to satisfy his desire. Conte spoke to Morata in France after they knocked out Spain, to encourage him to begin a new adventure in the Premier League. (Marca) Perez would be happy to see him (Morata) stay but he may be better off making a move to a club where he can play regular football. ChelseaFanUK 1,014
If we are that desperate for him, or Conte is, likelihood is we will up it by 5-10m euros. It is a mental fee though. Seems we dont want another disaster summer and are opening the wallet. IF we got Morata, we are already at almost £90m with him and Batshuayi before we have got a CB and CM. As someone posted, does make you wonder why Jose wasnt backed as heavily, although I kind of see why the board thought the same squad could win it again, but we still needed some major work. Did anyone know in Conte's first season at Juve he signed 18 players lol That is just insane
