It is mostly just rumours, but the press are crucifying them for dropping insane money on him (they bought 70% rights for 72m euros) and having him struggle really badly now. How is Lemar worth 100 million euros? https://www.marca.com/en/football/spanish-football/2019/01/06/5c32437f46163f81628b45b0.html

Special Juan 28,141
Sounds like it's a matter of when and not if now to Atletico Madrid.

I think he suits Atletico pretty well given they are predominantly a counter attacking team. If he can get going he will add to a different option to Costa and Griezmann but thats only if he can get going though. Atletico are maybe one of the only clubs who could turn a striker in his predicament around slightly. Theyve always had good strikers. Even Torres at the end there, he was a different player, although nowhere near his best but his confidence wasnt as shot.

As long as he is as far away from this club as possible I'm not bothered how he does. Dazzy_Vance

Im quite gutted because the first 10 games here he looked a really good player, until after that injury v City. Obviously now hes nowhere near that. Its a curious case because something obviously just snapped with him, he went from a very good footballer (nobody will admit it but at the start he was carrying the team with his goals and consistently played well) with all the right qualities to do well, basically to absolutely nothing in like the space of 3 months. Even at the start when he missed chances it didnt affect him but then it turned. Wasnt just that his general play and attitude deteriorated hugely. Wonder how Higuain does if he comes in. kc_blue and robsblubot

I know Higuain isn't everyones cup of tea, but the thing with him you no for a fact he will roll his sleeves up and fight, he's always been like that. His movement has always been top class, he will run the channels and he's incredible with his back to goal and link up play. If the loan deal is right and works for all parties it is a low risk gamble. His relationship with Sarri is something a lot of people are hanging on, I think Sarri can make this work I really do. I agree 100% but then you get the idiots who think hes washed up because hes struggling in a struggling Milan side 😂 If theres one thing Higuain has shown since playing in Europe is he knows where the net is. One bad season out of the last what 12 is nothing. Hes got pedigree and had the beet season of his career under Sarri. I think its a huge plus. Thats how I have always thought since Sarri came. But looking at how his weight ballooned and how his numbers have come down its got me nervous. Add that age but and very high wages and makes me not sure. But as a loan fine as long as we keep looking for a starter. Is there anyone at AM we could use as a swap?? Wasnt a direct dig at yourself but some people for no other reason have written him off because he isnt the new kid on the block or is having one off season in the last 14 year or so etc. Andre Silva (player I think in the long run could be a wise signing), who is 22, had the same issues last season in a very average side with no clear identity in the attacking third. Now hes on double figures for Sevilla.

But I look at his stats and think 9 goals in such few minutes he COULD make 20 in the year! Maybe I'm getting soft in my old age or just lack of sleep! kc_blue

I think theres no doubt Morata could be second choice if there was a good first choice in. Whoscored has him with 9 goals in 28 games in all comps, like youve said, if he was second choice and we had someone upfront with stats like an Aguero or Kane it would be okay. Id be surprised if he reaches 20 if he doesnt go but stranger things have happened. For instance, this season I think Pedro could be on course to get 10+ PL goals, hes on 7 in tne PL and has another one giving him 8 goals in all comps which for somebody whos started only 17 games is not bad. Anotner marmite player here.

IF you hadn't seen him play amd only went on Whoscored ,Transfermarket and Youtubess you might think he would make a good signing. That's what scares me about players I dont know. I go by someones recommendation then i try to find everything there is to read about them. I'd try Pedro as a false 9.

Think Pedro has to start at RW rest of the season if hes fit. Unless he plays poorly. His off the ball movement would be sorely missed. Also Luiz always seems to find him tucked in running behind teams or holding his position out wide with long passes. Hes the only willing runner in that front 3, even if he doesnt get it hes not scared to make a run in behind. Everyone else comes short more or less every time.
