akgw13 867
Just the 1st game against an easy Perth but he looked decisive and strong. His passing was crisp and almost always forward. I was very surprised. He looks like he could understand the philosophy and really build himself back up. I don't think we should sell/loan him(i never wanted too) this year. If he can grasp the system he is useful for us as we have no other midfielder who has his physical capabilities on the defensive side of the game. Really happy for him with this showing (i know its one half against a shit team in pre-season, but you've got to start somewhere!) We need creative, attacking MF(s) though. I am fine with Bakayoko staying for one more year to finally see if he comes good, BUT if you parcel out the other two of 3 starting MF slots automatically to Kante and Jorginho, Bakayoko surely is not the dynamic 3rd that we DESPERATELY need as Barkley is so damn injury prone and Cesc is so limited in most other facets and is ageing. For sure we need to bin Drinkwater.

For sure we need to bin Drinkwater. I happen to think Barkley will come good, he had a very positive game today. I think either of RLC or Golovin(if we buy him) would be extremely dangerous there as well and Cesc is limited but still useful against weaker teams if we protect him. I never said Bakayoko would start, but I do think we should keep him if he can keep up. If Kante goes down(god forbid) or just needs a rest we would have no defensive minded player in the midfield, we need balance. I view him as a Kante backup. Drinkwater getting sold for sure. Deep: Jorginho/Fabregas B2B: Kante/Bakayoko ATM: Barkley/RLC(or Golovin or both)

Barkley even being type of player that we are needing more (as we already have Cescs' qualities in Jorginho). In-form Barkley is actually capable of scoring goals. Why do people think Cesc could play in that more advanced role? He was NEVER good at it. Mufassir08

Vesper 30,178
Milan, two names for midfield: RB Salzburg's Samassékou and Chelsea's Bakayoko https://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/milan-two-names-for-midfield-rb-salzburgs-samassekou-and-chelseas-bakayoko Milan wants to build a more competitive squad this season and they are trying to make moves in section. Regarding the midfield, the rossoneri have singled out two names. The first one is Diadie Samassékou, who a 22 year old Mailan midfielder and he is similar to Kessié. He may be able to move at a cheaper price because his contract expires in 2019. The second one is Tiemoue Bakayoko, who hasn't received much space at Chelsea and he could be the right profile for Milan.  LOL, the Milanese punters are NOT happy campers about Bakayoko being linked    Diadie Samassékou is one of my best 5 available DMF's to replace Kante is he were to go to PSG or Juve    DMF (I already have 5 to choose from NONE will be more than £50m)   Thomas Partey Atletico Madrid  (hell yes and they already bought a replacement, Rodri, the new Busquets) Danilo Pereira   Porto (Best DMF in Portuguese Liga NOS BY FAR) Denis Zakaria  Borussia Mönchengladbach (big, fast as hell, only 21, had a great WC) Diadie Samassékou Red Bull Salzburg, young sorta kante clone, was MASSIVE in Eurpo league run they had, not only best DMF in Austria, but BEST PLAYER) Wilfred Ndidi  Leicester City  only 21 still, poor mans Kante, we could do far worse  snip  GK Strakosha CB Rudiger, Christensen, Rugani, Ampadu RB  Azpi, Zappacosta LB Alex Sandro, Emerson DMF one of the 5 above, lets say Thomas from AM (BEAST) or Danilo Pereira from Porto CMF, deep holding playmaker  Jorginho CMF backups Fabregas, RLC AMF Pjanic , Barkley LW Hazard, Bailey CHO RW , Bernardeshi, Pedro (Bailey can play here too) I would maybe even sell Pedro and take money plus whatever is left from the 160m and buy another DMF off that list, say Diadie Samassékou Striker Martial, Giroud, Bats

We're not even talking the need to be Jorginho standard on the ball. Kante isn't the most technical player on the ball and his other strengths such as pressing, winning the ball, etc are far more important all round for the team, but at least he can control the ball and pass to a more than competent level. I watch Bakayoko and I don't understand how a professional player, playing at the very highest level, can be so inept on the ball. kellzfresh, Vesper, Unionjack and 2 others
