Injured. will probably miss the next fixture

Ouch.. Silva will be out aswell. If James is out too then Christensen and Chalobah are the only available options(not counting Sarr), so Azpi have to play RCB and CHO wingback. TT will be short handed.

all clear. Apparently the back issue does not prohibit him from playing if he must so he made the trip to Macedonia -.- Would much rather have him here to assess his injury concerns but Flick does not give a damn about Rüdiger's health beyond next summer.

Di Marzio: "Rüdiger is in talks with Juventus, Man City, Tottenham and even PSG, who still need a defender. It’s difficult to see him signing a new contract. He will join one of the four teams mentioned."

Juventus  is  legit option to him  ,would be  good if we  can swap him for  De Ligt .

We can't swap him, he is out of contract in summer. We have absolutely 0 leverage in this situation.

No idea how reliable DiMarzio is these days but it seems his head has been turned, there is nothing we can do about it.

We will lose a big character in the dressing room but I do not think it will be a problem to replace him as a player. There are tons of quality options available on the transfer market.

I wonder… We all remember Rudi from before Tuchel… Hell, we can even see him in national team. So surely Real, PSG or whoever who is serious player has this knowledge too. Why would they push hard for player who out of TT and his setup is mediocre to say? Would premium wages vs no transfer fee really balance it out?

I have an impression that big part of the fuss is some media game either from player or the club itself

I could imagine PSG or Real don't even care about how Rüdiger looks outside this system. Their transfer policy basically is just throwing money at big names. If they can avoid another counterparty in the deal even better. Everybody with half a football brain could have said that e.g. Hazard never really fitted their playing style under Zidane but Real sign players first and ask questions later. They do it more for their brand than for thier

This is the sort of saga I can’t recall us ever being in. Where a top player who both sides want to see stay here but a deal can’t be reached with only 1 year left on his contract. Feel pretty Arsenal like.

Think Toni respects this club enough to never join a domestic rival so I’m not worried about that if he leaves. Can see him at PSG.

For this to drag in so long though he must be asking something nuts for a club as rich as us to not offer. Is he asking for 300k a week or something?

He almost went to Tottenham under Frank though? Would of been allowed to go too if he didn’t decide he wanted to fight for his place instead, which honestly did surprise me but kudos to him because his performances have been top quality.

Whilst he’s a good figure and a popular player in the dressing room, lets not pretend players wouldn’t make these moves now a days. Cech, Willian and Luiz went to Arsenal. Zouma went to West Ham.

If the guys settled in London and gets a nice offer, why would he not? Best case of action is still to do our best to keep him.

Two Premier League clubs "talking" to Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger about free transfer

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/antonio-rudiger-Chelsea-transfer-latest-25287811

Chelsea ace Antonio Rudiger is reportedly in discussions with four top European clubs - including two Premier League sides - over a potential move.

The German defender's existing contract expires in June and he's yet to agree an extension with the European champions.

It's believed the former Roma centre-back is struggling to negotiate a new contract with Chelsea, despite being a regular under manager Thomas Tuchel.

Rudiger has made eight Premier League appearances for the Blues this term, started their Champions League final victory against City in May and is a firm fans' favourite at Stamford Bridge.

According to Sky Italia's Gianluca di Marzio, Rudiger, 28, is currently in talks with Manchester City, Tottenham, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.

He's also been linked with German giants Bayern Munich in recent weeks but played down speculation about his future earlier this month.

Rudiger told the press: "Of course [Bayern's interest] honours me and proves that I've been doing things right.

"But I don't let myself be distracted. I have an obligation to my club to perform well. I have to prove myself every game and not let myself be distracted by rumours.

"I make my decisions for myself. They don't depend on anyone. I feel good where I am."

As revealed by Mirror Football last month, Rudiger could leave Chelsea when his deal expires and earn a £400,000-a-week contract at his next club.

But the Blues won't want to lose Rudiger, with Rio Ferdinand recently describing the defender as one of the best in the Premier League.

The Manchester United icon said: "Since Tuchel has come I think he’s arguably been the best centre-back.

"I think him and [Ruben] Dias would have been close but the effect he has had on his team has been immense.

"Under Frank, it was evident he wasn’t Frank’s cup of tea. He didn’t really like him. There was rumours they were trying to put him in the market to be sold.

"In Germany, he’s always been highly thought of. But when the manager doesn’t rate you and you can feel that, I don’t care who you are your confidence takes a beating and it’s hard to perform at that level."

Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann also confessed his admiration of Rudiger last month.

He told the press: "In principle I am no fan of talking about players who are under contract with other clubs while we are outside the transfer window.

"But I'm talking about Rudiger as a football fan. He has made fantastic progress.
