The big problem is that I think his body is starting to break down. Whn he got the injury against Liverpool, everyone was saying how much iron he is made of as it was thought he would be out for about 2-4 weeks. Yet its been well over a month and could extend into the begining of January due to his knee swelling up. I would not be surrprised if the club moniter his physical health for the next year bfore discussing a new contract to see how much time he spending on the sidelines.

Agree with you there. He is now paying the price for all those times he came back too early and played through the pain. Even in the last 2 years when he has been 'fit' he still doesn't move well for example turning is a big problem for him. He was never the most agile or mobile player to begin with so you can only see it getting so bad he'll become a liability.

I think from reading that article, it makes out Roman is refusing to give JT a new contract because of all the personal shit thats went on in the last few years.... what the fuck Roman, give JT a new deal and Cole while your at it buddy.

At some point the negative publicity associated with JT might outweigh what he brings to the side, especially with his fitness issues.

I'll be honest - in the last few weeks I haven't missed him.

So the 2 weeks turned into 6, so far. It's always fun to guess what 2 weeks mean with our medical staff.

it is another example of "the elasticity of time " a stronger version of Fergie Time and the very opposite of Roman time ...when

time and contracts contract

I think he is starting to pay the price for playing through and coming back early from injury time and time again. He's not as young as he used to be and what in his 20's he could shake of in his 30's will take longer… that is a fact of life. Soon those aches and pains will remain and become chronic (some already have … his back). Add that into to the powder keg that is his personal life and it makes him a liability for the club. Unfortunately. :(

6 weeks is a long time for your captain to be side lined … especially when it was supposedly a minor injury.

I think you're right, sadly. We all knew this would happen at some point though..

It'd make sense for them not to offer him one. This injuries are becoming more frequent and are taking longer for him to bounce back. The worst thing is, we're never quite sure as to what the specific injuries even are. We all remember his mystery visit abroad last year to see specialists about his knee. Odd..

I think he'll be let go next season. I wouldn't be surprised if he retired though, rather than find another club. Firstly, he's Mr Chelsea so I doubt he'll want to. Secondly, I don't think his body will be up to it and most importantly, I don't know if another team would make a move for him. He comes with a lot of baggage.
