Lot of rumours flew around end of the transfer window that Pato was being offered to United & co but never materialised. Afaik, his parent club have been trying to get rid of him for a while and even went to the extent of loaning him out to a rival club

nope, he walked in just fine.

I think he had glimpses of a top player, like when he destroyed Real in spain, but was mostly potential. That ship has sailed though.
