Guys, you dont realy think Atletico will sell their best player to their biggest rivals?! Lolz

RM wanted Aguero year ago, but Atletico didnt sell to RM. In worst case, RM interest for Falcao would only increase his price, but they would never sell to them. Besides, Real has Higuain and Benzema who fit well in that squad, netting around 50-60 goals both. And they dont play regulary, but they mix.

Barca also confirmed they wont buy him. The point is that Falcao has to be first man in squad, most important and all passes must go to him. While Barca and Real are playing on Messi and Ronaldo. Falcao wouldnt fit to either system. I see only two/three real options; Chelsea, Manchester City and Zenit.

United and Psg fall of because they have Rvp and Ibra as their main strikers. Im sure Falcao wont warm the bench.

We should of got him from Porto. Imagine if AVB had a fully firing Falcao instead of a half crippled Torres, there would be a chance we'd have done a hell of a lot better as when we created chances some games and we were extremely wasteful, dropping points. Mata would of had about 50 assists too if we had Falcao. We could do with him even though Torres looks like hes getting slightly better still not as good as he once was.

Agreed and the only way realistically he will go to Real is if Benzema and Higuain left, both which I don't see happening. I reckon us and City will likely be frontrunners for his signature

He's certainly not joining Real Madrid.

He's surely not joining Manchester City. (It's easy to think they just want to buy everyone, but they're not that stupid.)

Who else can afford him?

Chelsea, Zenit, Manchester United, Tottenham (assuming they have cash left over from their sales), Bayern Munich, Anzhi, Porto, Barcelona, Benfica, Hamburg at a stretch, PSG, B.Dortmund, AS Roma at a stretch, Juventus (but they don't spend big), Schalke at a stretch, Real Madrid, Liverpool (but they won't spend big and properly), Manchester City, Sao Paulo, and Inter Milan depending on sales.

I may be missing someone obvious.

Who out of the above are in need of or wanting another striker and could realistically sign him?

Chelsea & Schalke (if Huntelaar was to leave).

(Manchester City could lose a screw and go after him, but I doubt it.)

Sounds simple... right?

Why would he leave Atletico for Schalke?

If he leaves Atletico in the near future it'll be to a far bigger club. I think Falcao is sick of playing for 2nd tier clubs as he's done all his life, Porto, Atletico would be enough for him. He would want to move to a team that has a good chance of winning the Champions League/winning a league title in one of Europe's big 4 leagues, and that surely isn't Schalke.

Atletico don't sell to them. At all.

They offered something crazy for Aguero, Aguero wanted to join them, but they wouldn't allow the transfer to happen.

The fans would go crazy.

On top of that, why would Real Madrid buy?

News today is that UEFA punished 23 clubs over breach in FFP regulations with Atletico being one of them (emanating from Falcao deal).

Like I said they've opened themselves up for offers in summer before and it seems as though it will certainly (as expected) happen in January.

This deal is looking soooo realistic right now. Especially after Eddie Newton confirmed we will get another striker if needed in January.

Who else will buy him? City are loaded with strikers. United are more than covered there as well. Those 2 are our biggest english competitors for Falcao. We can offer loads more playing time to Falcao than them as well (and if Torres doesn't fire then he'll be a guaranteed starter and have the team built around him). None of the italian teams have a chance. Same with German. That leaves Madrid (as Barcelona won't want a Falcao type of player for the way they play). Madrid also have 2 very good strikers. On top of that, Atletico will almost never sell to Madrid. They'd rather sell overseas. We are basically the only destination for him.

I don't think teams like PSG and Zenit come into the equation as Falcao will want to go to the next level of clubs.

While that is true, you can bet your life on Mancini crying for striker for one lame reason.
