It sounded like you already can't wait to criticize Mourinho.

If Remy wants to leave so he could be assured for more game time, like some of this articles suggests, than it's about him, it's his career decision, not Chelsea's. He and his fans (and I'm one of them) can't expect Mourinho to not bring anyone when Drogba leaves, a striker who played like 30 games last season. We can't and shouldn't do everything to keep Remy happy, with all the respect to him. But I'm sure Mourinho wants him to stay, like many articles suggests.

Sorry if you don't like it, but my argument simply revolves around these facts:

Remy - Was an excellent back-up.

Bamford - Yet another excellent year and has the best chance out of the youth strikers, as highly rated as Solanke and Brown are, to actually break into the team.

Falcao - An absolutely atrocious season and completely stole a living at £250k+ a week.

So I can't wait to criticise is it? Are you saying I can't criticise because of those facts? Because if you are, I can tell you where to go...

The Falcao signing now threatens their positions, no matter how you want to look at it. Logically, it makes next to no sense, but people are still being blinded by a big fucking name.

And in case it wasn't clear, it is the person we are signing I do not agree with, I am not saying 'don't sign a striker'.

If we wanted mediocrity we could've just signed someone like Lambert as 3rd choice instead (without the ridiculous wages). We could go for Austin as no. 2 and sell Remy. If we're in for Griezmann, he has the ability to be 3rd choice as well. Fuck it, we could put our faith in Bamford for a change. Absolutely anything else, just as long as it makes logical sense. Just as long as we're 100% sure we're not relying on shite when Costa isn't there - which, let's face it, will be quite a lot of the time.

I don't want to go into the season with one arm tied behind our backs when Costa isn't there; if you can honestly look at Falcao from last season and feel confident, well, you're a very optimistic person to put it nicely.

No, you are the one who apparently didn't read any posts in this thread.

I don't need to read a lot of posts to understand this deal comes with its flaws. Not my fault I'm cautious about the club I support.. as Special Juan said.. it's my own opinion on the matter at hand.

No im not saying you cant criticize (and save the words for someone who cares).

The sentence i referred to in your post was "I thought it was about 'keeping the current squad'?", when you talk about Remy might be leaving.

So my point is that if Remy wants to leave, its not Chelsea's or Jose's fault, because if Remy doesnt feel like competing with Falcao and Costa, thats his issue and his decision. You said you're welcoming a new striker, so what difference does it makes (for Remy) if its Falcao or anyone else? if it was Icardi or Dzeko he wouldnt want to leave (if he really is now)? and then we wouldnt keep the current squad as well.

The point is that i dont get how can you blame the club if they cant "keep the current squad", simply because Remy wants more assurance of game time. Back-up players are always difficult to keep for a long time.

I have a funny feeling that this guy might surprise us all and do the business for us. My reason for this is simple. Last season the guy looked bereft of confidence playing a bit part in a poor team, under a manager who really didn't want him and who definitely wouldn't have signed him.

But now, the greatest manager in the world wants him. Now if this is not a major boost to your confidence I dont know what is !!. He has also had the experience of playing a season in the premiership and now realises what will be required to come out top next season. He will also have pre-season to work on his speed and to fit in with his new team-mates.

This guy was awesome against us 2 years ago. There is no way that he can be as bad as he was last season again. I firmly believe Mourinho will restore this guys confidence and ability and that we will have gotten ourselves a real "player".........................I hope :blue scalf:

I genuinely hope that this transfer is a result of Jose wanting to do Jorge Mendez a favor or some shit like that because otherwise I would seriously start to doubt Jose's footballing judgement and his mental abilities in general.

lolwut?

arguably the greatest manager in the world, chelsea's greatest ever manager, the man who's just won us a double and the prem for the first time in 5 years... this is the guy you would "seriously start to doubt" his "footballing judgement and his mental abilities"? just because YOU don't understand this transfer? is this serious lol? the delusions of grandeur of some people on this board are quite astounding...

have you ever considered the fact that jose doesn't want to just sit still and be content with the prem we won but actually wants a squad that can challenge for the champions league? now tell me, if we're losing in a CL kock-out game and costa is being subbed off, who would you want to come in as a sub, bamford or falcao?

also to suggest jose and the board want falcao because of youtube compilations is beyond laughable, no offense but i will take jose's assessment of a player over yours, or anyone else's here, any day...

out of all the things you said, only one made sense and that is that losing remy would suck.... however, since we don't know who will replace him IF he leaves, it's a moot point to argue right now whether it would ultimately be beneficial or not for the squad as a whole, it might end up being an upgrade.

i'm just amazed at the criticism jose can receive by our own fans, having just won us a prem and league cup double, for simply signing ON LOAN a player who's had world class seasons prior to his injury and who might end up being amazing.... apparently this is now enough to question jose's footballing knowledge and overall decision making, wow

Lol says the guy who fails to see the difference, which is huge. When we bought Sheva he was one of, if not the best striker in Europe. Falcao is a has-been for years now. Also, if you could give me one good reason why I should be supportive (or heavens forbid, enthusiastic) of this transfer, then I'd seriously like to hear it.

sheva was 30 and on the wane a bit... falcao is 29 and struggled last season because he tried to rush back from serious injury in a very short span of time, then found himself in a team in total disarray with a manager who was mixing and matching his team each week because it was his first year in the premier league and manu were struggling, obviously those are some of the worst set of circumstances he could have found himself in for his first season in England... as to your request for one good reason: it's good enough for Jose, whose job depends on making such calls, so it should be good enough for you.

It's not what I want, those were José's words, not mine. If that is what he wants to do, why is he signing someone who has the potential to cause a lot of disruption? Why is he risking a severe loss in quality?

Listen, I've made all my points and it is obvious to see the differences between Falcao and literally any other striker, I'm going no further in this pointless debate.
