Pacquiao 1,834
Torres still managed 22 goals one season, in a worse team than today. I think falcao would be prolific here22 goals in about 60 games.
robdog 2,084
People need to remember Falcao is the guy who kept Diego Costa out of the Atletico teamFalcao is a talent, but I think AM believed they could sell Falcao & promote Diego Costa. In fact, I would argue that AM wanted DC to improve first before this transfer took place. They took their time & was awarded a lot of money for selling Falcao. IMHO AM benefited immensely by selling Falcao. Now do CFC need Falcao? I believe he would not fit in here. Are you sure there is no bad blood w/ DC & Falcao? Personally I rather keep Remy, who has shown he can do a shift at CFC & give a youngster (like Solanke or Bamford) that 3rd Striker spot. Rom2013 446
I would have him here without a doubt. He will be second ST, he is a huge improvement when compared with Drogba. With him we can begin the game with 2 ST when needed, he is the kind of player we can change the system sometimes to have both ST on the pitch.United was a mess, and they had 3 world class ST, any player would have problems in there at that moment. We are different, we just have 1 world class ST he will have a good chance.I think this is the continuation of the great deales we are doing in the last 2 years. Buy or take on loan a player that was world class, that would accept a secundary role, for a lot less money than he would cost 1 or 2 years ago.If Drogba could do it , Falcao that is 10 times better than him today, can do it also. RoyalBlues 4,050
In my opinion, Falcao will be useful in our defensive counter attack system when away, which Remy not fitted to do it when Costa unavailable last season. So, I would welcome him here and looking forward to it.
LDN Blue 7,903
and he'll come as a 2nd or 3rd striker. Really? £250-300,000/week (as quoted by most sources) plus a £45m transfer fee and that amounts to "2nd or 3rd striker"?Shevchenko and Torres. Two players that we signed for record deals and clearly not cut out for this squad, signed simply because of their name. Costa & Remy were smart signings, scouted and well thought out.. They contributed in abundance for fees not near what we're used to paying. Falcao is signing that signals name over anything, I saw a member even suggest shirt sales as a pro for this move?!If this club is paying those sorts of sums for a second or third striker then it's clearly going in the wrong direction. Sure, he could go elsewhere and become a success and we'd say "oh we should have signed him", but are we really in a position to take such a financial risk? Mourinho has said countless times how we're trying to abide by FFP, if that's true then this is a case of 1 step forward, 2 steps back. If he still want a huge wage, we will be looking for someone else.

When you live such a luxurious lifestyle you're not going to lower your demands to such an extent. Which ever way you look at it, it's paying over the odds for a second or third striker that simply isn't suitable.

He will have to, if he want to come here, because no players in here will gain more than Terry and Hazard. Also because this time the player looks badly need the move. Last season at MU, LvG want the move and it still below or the same of Rooney get each week.

After his injury and bad year at United, not many top clubs still want him. He's already almost 30 years old, so probably his last chance to move to an elite club.If he wants to keep that luxurious lifestyle and throw away his final ambitions, so be it. We already have 2 top strikers, we can easily buy another reasonable striker instead of him. Monaco also knows his market value dropped superbly after these 2 years, they will never get the original transfer sum (+ - £55M) back. So it's basically like: 130K/wk, £3m loan fee and option to buy at max £22M. Take it or leave it, Monaco and Falcao.

Special Juan 28,141
The greedy cunt should come here for fuck all after he chased the money to Monaco, either that or put the fucker on minimum wage.
RoyalBlues 4,050
And along with the paycut, hopefully we shouldn't have to pay any loan fee either. That fee have to be paid for a club interested in him. This one the player want the move.
ChelseaFanUK 1,014
The greedy cunt should come here for fuck all after he chased the money to Monaco, either that or put the fucker on minimum wage.wasn't he basically given to Monaco by his 3rd party investors (who i think no longer have an involvement). They wanted to make X amount of million on him/their"share" when he left Atletico and Monaco offered them exactly what they wanted, as theyd just got the take over not too long prior and were spending money like it was going out of fashion.Quite interesting to read the Falcao move to Monaco and reasons behind it, is a detailed write up on reddit. In a nutshell, he had no say
LAB 1,030
Please don't. We have good academy options but even if Jose insists they are not ready, just try to buy someone like Benteke or Austin. FFS there are plenty of fresh talents out there, why do they always link us with the goners?
Eidur the Spider 4,515
#Monaco want to offload Falcao permanently for a fee of €35m [massive hit on €60m paid in 2013]. #CFC pushing for loan+option to buy at €25m
