Hutcho 8,443
I am sort of in a not to bothered situation about falcao though i definitely don't want him going to city.My main problem isn't his price tag (which many have deemed to large... perhaps rightly so), or his age (which again links into his price, as he will have small resale value after a few years with us), or even that our current history of big name striker signings (FT and sheva) BUT mainly because that it could in effect see the end of Lukaku's future at chelsea. He has proven he is a great talent with a lot of potential and if we sign falcao, we can't expect to loan him for 2 more years then have him be a no.2 for a couple more years, as by then he would be 23 and really want to make a name for himself, so would be more likely (and rightly) to want to move. Theres no guarentee that Lukaku will be huge (he is size wise ). But it comes a point where we have to put faith in our youngsters who have done well and shown promise. Use the money to get Mourinho, and sort out the midfield rather than in one huge purchase. If he comes, i will be 100% behind him and hope he does really well. But there comes a point where you have to take a plunge in the deep end and trust your players. Give him a chance. If it works then we could have an amazing 20 year old striker with an amazing future as it would really pain me to see him slip through our hands and succeed elsewhere because we choose the short term option of buying falcao. Hutcho 8,443
Or develop a 2 up top system that works... Falcao and Lukaku, would be something pretty special.

OneMoSalah 8,886
Why don't we first agree a deal for a new manager and let him pick a striker to sign?Say we appoint someone after we agree a deal for Falcao, which who knows we probably will end up doing, then hes forced to play Falcao basically as hes the latest big name and big price tag signing. Indeed, wasn't AVB appointed a bit late so he didn't have good time to do good bussines on the transfermarket? Hope they learnt from it.. karaclouds 47
It's the Hulk media circus all over again. I do feel that Lukaku will be brought back next season ( as well as De Bruyne); hopefully Roman has come to senses and sells the former goldilocks. Which leaves us with Ba and Lukaku, maybe looking at other alternatives e.g. Lewandowski.I think Falcao is a great player, but I don't want the board to pay a lot of money for a striker, when we have great potential in our youth
Guest FullEnglishBreakfast
I'll take a walk one day to the local park and when I return I'll see Falcao holding up a blue shirt and Torres holding a red and white shirt. And I'll be conflicted, upset with Falcao, happy with Torres.
The only place to be 11,313
The only way i can see anybody refusing to have Falcao join Chelsea is because of the price tag.Footballing wise... the guy is a BEAST. You dont score 5 goals in one game but luck. You dont compete with Messi and Ronaldo in the race for the Pichichi by luck. Yes he is falling behind now but keep in mind that he was injured for 3 weeks and he plays for a lesser side.Falcao is as prolific as it gets when it comes to strikers... 21 goals in the league from only 88 shots. Compared to Ronaldo who has 27 goals from a staggering 194 shots (yes Ronaldo takes free kicks) but that is still a massive contrast ! So far this season in all competitions this season he's scored 29 goals in 32 games. You cant take nothing away from this lads ability as a striker.Yet he's completely unproven in the Premier League. I can't remember a time when we've been in for a player who looks so good on paper (and in person) yet the support has been so apathetic about the prospect of his arrival - and that encourages me to be honest. It says to me that we want to build something properly rather than buying expensive parts. It says to me that we actually want to reward young guys who do everything asked of them with loyalty and fairness. It says to me that the fans are actually starting to look longer-term than simply who models the new kit in July or who they get to play with in FIFA 14.Unless we get a deal that involves Torres going the other way and a reduced price, then I can see this deal being a watershed moment. If we deal Courtois then we're morons. If we overspend when we have greater needs in other areas then we're morons and quite frankly the board would deserve the punishment that comes with idiotic decisions.
