killer1257 3,282
wuuuh, I'm turning into a little kid atm. I dont care about any presents for christmas eve, I'm just excited about the fact (it's a fact after what Benitez said) that we will get a new striker. Now one can only dream about our potential targets. Good stuff..Benitez will not send Torres to the bench. That is not his aim.He wants to prove that he is the manager, who can bring Torres to his best .Maybe he can do it,but I doubt that.Falcao would be a big dream, although I think he is too expensive. DanishBlue 426
Well, yeah you might be right. But it's a fact that we will get a new striker come this january and it should be a pretty good striker who can compete with Torres (should be easy for a new striker) and then Benitez is going to play him (otherwise the fans will be pissed)
Hutcho 8,443
Well if falcao wasn't sure then that performance could help to sway him...

BlueLyon 9,359
Falcao is probably worlds best striker now, but lets check few things: 1.) 50mio. Since when was big money striker a sucess here? Drogba was expensive, but 25 is much less than what Torres or Sheva cost. Falcao would be even more expensive and I dont want a flop again. 2.) Falcao and Torres are similar players in style. Both are best at counters with fast ball movement. We dont play that style. Even Falcao is class now (When we bought Torres, he wasnt that good), but it doesnt mean that Falcao will score for us just because he scores in La liga now. 3.) We need to strenghten midfield. Moutinho, Cabaye, Capoue, Pjanic, Moussa Sissoko, Benat, Camacho, Isco, Gundogan, Bender,...since Mikel will go to Afcon, Romeu is injured, we might even need two of them or recall Kdb. 4.) There are other options available. Cheaper. Lewandowski would be my fav option if we go after class, young striker for mid price. Doubt he will go in january...Aubameyang, Bony, Llorente (not my prefered option, but he will be available), Lisandro Lopez, Gomis, Villa, Ba,...5.) We have time in summer. Since Danny will probably leave too, we might need two strikers. Lewandowski and Bony would be incredible for me. And we can still sign Cavani in summer.----Is Falcao realy that necessary? All we need is good finisher with some ball control and team play. Lewandowski or Cavani (more expensive option) are my choices. Bony as backup and we are good to go with another CM. Superblue 6,372
Lol, if things go right, could be RG3 v Wilson in playoffs I would take that but me and 7 mates do a sweepstake every year where we get four teams each - I've got Bills who are pathetic, Patriots and Seahawks, and also Giants, so could really do with Giants making playoffs. If Redskins can too, I wouldn't mind cos I do like RG3 - prefer him to Andrew Luck!
Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
I just don't want to have the problem of having to address the striker position again, Falcao makes perfect sense in that regard. I won't be disappointed if we don't get him but if not him we need to grab someone who is in form.... Any names?

Hutcho 8,443
We will probably just buy walcott now and he will be our sturridge replacement... I hope not, (don't mind it that much as he gives some great pace) but he is not a proper striker. Hopefully falcao...Falcao and a lampard 2 year contract would make my chrimbo... Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
Ba,Cavani and BonyBony untested in bigger leagues and competitions. Ba huge injury risk. Cavani the same price as Falcao

DanishBlue 426
Agreed! Dorgba all the way.On a serious note... If I would choose anyone in the world (well, not Messi and Ronaldo) I guess I would go for Cavani. After him Falcao.Cavani is such a beast imo. On the other hand I don't want the club to spend 50 mio. on a player come this january. For this coming month I would also go for someone cheap. He still needs to be quality though, and the hard part is to find a quality striker who is available for at decent price :/Higuain maybe...? Hutcho 8,443
Higuain seems to be under rated on here imo and whilst I would rather have Falcao he would still be a very good signing though I haven't seen much evidence to suggest we are seriously linked to him, except reports he is unhappy at Madrid due to being sat on the bench for a lot of the season. Hutcho 8,443
Is Michu any good? Realized that he is PL current top goal scorer.Yeah, he is strong, powerful, has pace and has a great finish, all for 2mil. He is obviously not the finished article but he maybe reminds me of young Drogba... Still extremely early but he has a lot of potential.
