Juan Cuadrado

I honestly have no idea how some are judging based on tiny little scant appearances, it completely baffles me. Let's remember, new league, new culture, new team mates and not to mention coming into one of the best squads in world football.

Yawn, I like Salah and wish he had more games here but to be honest he had chances, did not take them.

Glad he's doing well in Serie A but since he's gone there I've watched as much Fior as possible including last nights match, Serie A is poor at best, granted you still have to pop the goals in but other than that its not like I'm watching it going "Omg." "Amazing."

Serie A is a very good league but the proof is in the pudding in terms of the Premier League being a more intensive experience from a physical perspective. The pace of the game in England is relentless, bettered only by the Bundesliga in my opinion. In Italy, the game is generally played at a more serene pace, less blood and thunder. Hence why Salah, someone who has come from the Premier League, has adapted to a slower style of football than Cuadrado has to a faster style. Admittedly he isn't getting any favours by being an 80th minute substitute every other game, but Mourinho has to play his strongest XI in virtually every match and that means Hazard and either Willian or Rami on the wing.

The knee-jerk reactions here are just as unfortunate as they are expected. It is way too early to judge Cuadrado, he has shown signs of promise but also shared some of the problems he had in Fiorentina. PL is a tougher league and it will take some time for him to reach his best, I still greatly prefer him to Salah.

It was a good purchase and I am certain we will reap the rewards 2015, whether it will be this season or next remains to be seen.

I agree but only to a point. It is too early to reach a definitive conclusion but I see nothing wrong with a comment that says something like, I haven't been impressed with what I've seen so far, and indeed I haven't. :(

If Juan is to get a chance to show us what he can do he'll have to impress Jose enough to get some game time. It seems he hasn't done that yet either. I don't mind if it takes till the end of the season before Cuadrado starts to show the kind of form we all wish for but I hope it happens by then. I would not want to see us start 2015/16 still searching for a solution at right-sided AM.

Needs to be given a run of games on the right with Willian as the #10 and Oscar's ass parked firmly on the bench. It's way, WAY too early to judge Cuadrado as he's barely played and is clearly being eased very slowly into the side.

Yeah but I think people need to realize he wont get 3+ games in a row if he doesnt impress Mourinho. And so far Cuadrado was meh at best in games so far.

While I dont blame Cuadrado for anything, you pay 30m for a player who will perform instantly, not for someone who will need time to adjust.

If you sign Reus for example, he will take one month and then start performning well.

If Cuadrado cant overtake Willian, he never will.

I only wonder why do we spend 30m on player that wasnt meant to be given fair chance to show himself.

Cuadrado needs to show more in order to bench Willian and he isnt doing that. When you buy player, he wont have guaranteed spot until he performs above average. If he does that, he gets more play time. Its simple as that.

Mourinho will probably play Cuadrado this way for quite some time and if Juan wont perform above average, he wont get spot. simple as that. And people here after a year will say he didnt get chance etc etc. If you arrive for 30m, its your job to perform, one way or another. Instead all these players we have are just passive and then explode in other clubs. But I guess Mourinho restricts their roles massively. No free role or whatsoever and that makes hard to Cuadrado, Salah etc. Even when they get chance, they cant play their way and this is Mou problem to solve.

And while speaking of game time, Isco for example was benched alot for Real in past two years, but still managed to impress in the time given and now is considered regular starter (he had some luck with James injury but still, performed very well).

We are title contenders and we wont give players like Cuadrado much time to improve, impress perform whatsoever. They have to show it in time given that they are better. And since Willian aint that great in attack (been better this two months has to be said), I dont know how cant Cuadrado give more to attack. He is passive, like someone tied his hands. No spark whatsoever. And thats problem on Mou too.

But if thats case, just dont spend 30m on such players. Either seriously count on them, or buy some 30 year old for 5m and play him for capital game every two months.

Certainly, I was mostly referring to those who are already regretting the Salah+money-cuadrado swap because the player who hardly made an impact in Chelsea is suddenly banging in goals in Serie A. It is hardly a secret that he hasnt taken to the league in the style of Costa or even Zouma (who had no experience of PL before) but I think we might need to show some understanding for him, it has only been a bit over a month so far.

Always considered him a squad guy, change of pace, direct runner. He's been that but not yet to the standard I expected of him. January transfer is always a tough time to bed into a team particularly when you don't see much time... I think Henrique said it best, his first season will be next.

Willian needs to score more but his overall play has been decent for us. Juan needs to be at least as good as Willian if he's gonna challenge for a start and right now he's still adjusting.

I'm a little confused? Are you implying we paid 30m for Cuadrado?
