Iggy Doonican 4,186
As a young boy when we sold Osgood and Hudson that was a real choker likewise Ray Wilkins but we had no choice with Wilkins we were totally skint then. Recently it has to be De Bruyne he's going to be a world class player and when you sell him and a year later buy Cuadrado !. Well we've been praised for our recent transfer dealings but those two deals are just baffling. I think Mourinho threw the baby out with the bath water where De Bruyne was concerned. Unionjack 7,531
I count myself blessed to have watched Zola, He was and is my fave ever player to wear a Chelsea shirt. It was a sad day when he left us but he went out with pure class. The last game of the season putting Carragher on his arse twice. The lad was amazing. Another German player, Wagner, brought him. But the AEK Athens supremos said send this skinny youth back home in Germany !

Duppy Conqueror 1,557
Greaves would be number 1. a world class player when we had him who had scored more top flight goals than almost all of the current top flight strikers score in a career by the time we sold him at 21. proof that you don`t need to hold kids back. he went on to remain world class for about 12 years after he left us.Ray Wilkins another young player who had already been our captain and went onto a long career of greatness.for the most recent ones ones..a lot have either been at the end of their prime when they left..e.g Joe and Ashley Cole,Lampard,Zola,Essien,Dixon,Petrescu,Ballack etc..or left for other reasons....players like Robben,De Bruyne,Lukaku..of the ones currently playing none of them I greatly regret not being here..but if I had to pick two I`d say Robben and De Bruyne, atleast as matchday squad players (I don`t think anyone should be guaranteed a starting spot in our 1st team every game )
LDN Blue 7,903
Of the 'modern' era, Robben. From the near past, Gudjohnsen. From the distant past, Zola.
Madmax 9,219
Why is Sturridge on so few lists? If RdM had kept him around the last few seasons would have been much more bearable.
sapper245 40
Like others have said us golden oldies miss Osgood and Hudson who never really played to his potential after he left.Robben was disappointing to see leave but he was injury prone and a cry baby when tackled hard.In this era i have to say Mata could still do a job for us and also Bertrand oh for a Left back in the currant squad so Dave could play in his preferred position.
