Shame, quite obvious he was on coke most of his career, with that manic style. Cocaine and depression not a good mixture. Yes it would have given him a manic lift, but the lows, come downs would have been really low.

He was amazing in that film. I recently watched that again for the umpteem time and am always blown away by how well he nailed his role. Brilliant actor.

He always struck me as a sad man. His comedy was extremely manic and the flipside of manic is depressive. It just goes to show how serious depression really is. And it's not about how much money you have or how famous you are.
