Zola: "Costa can still be dangerous & score goals, that is very similar to Drogba. Since he left that's the missing part of the puzzle" #CFC

Zola: "I like him because he’s one of those strikers who is happy to play up front on his own. Costa is a real handful for any defence" #CFC

Gianfranco Zola has tipped Diego Costa to become Chelsea’s new Didier Drogba. Link: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/5602868/Gianfranco-Zola-Diego-Costa-new-Didier-Drogba-for-Chelsea.html (Sun) #CFC #Atletico

Yes, if you compared like that. The difference is that this Diego Costa move first confirmed by Rob Beasley on his twitter, and that goal.com article most probably written after that. Did Rob also confirmed that Falcao move back then?

Didn't we have someone last summer who 'confirmed' Cavani was 100% coming to Chelsea? Look how that turned out, although PSG probably won't bid for Costa because of their FFP troubles but still, I'll believe Costa's signing when I see it on the CFC website.

yup, from the most reliable journo Tancredi Palmeri

I really don't like his behaviour on the pitch... He's diving, spitting on other players and so on... But yeah, his style of playing is great...

But at the other end of the scale we have a striker who has done fuck all, cuddled players and was too bothered about not celebrating a goal because he was too worried about upsetting his old fans.

I want this horrible bastard Diego Costa.

Is Marca reliable ? Great news if true.

There probably is something in these rumours but Marca is known to be an unofficial mouthpiece for Real Madrid, and I wouldn't put it past them to be reporting this as an attempt to destabilize Atleti before RM plays them in the final. I would take anything they say with a pinch of salt.

Seems British media rushed it.

1. According to Di Marzio, Atletico dont want to let him go and now trying to extend his contract (and increase the exit clause).

http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/calciomercato/chelsea-pushing-to-acquire-diego-costa-while-atletico-tries-to-extend-his-contract/

2. Marca are saying British media are wrong, and there wasnt any big meeting between Chelsea and Atletico on wednesday after the match. They are saying the club doesnt want to let him go, and adding that Costa himself doesnt think about leaving just yet.

http://www.marca.com/2014/05/03/en/football/spanish_football/1399108401.html

You might be confused about the previous Marca article, but that article was saying: "according to reports in some of the British media". here: http://www.marca.com/2014/05/02/en/football/international_football/1399047921.html

Well, I think we could get some clues about this when Simeone attending his latest PC. He could strongly denied that no such thing the deal was done and confirmed Diego is going nowhere because he is very important, still has a contract, and so on.

This is what he said (quoted from Atletico Madrid official page) :

About other clubs possible interest in Diego Costa, Simeone pointed out, Were facing a very important game where we need the attention of all of us whove been working for nine months. Its important that the powerful teams want players from your team because youre doing it right. It makes me happy when this happens because it says the team is well

It was a diplomatic answer, but actually he should have denied it if they want Costa to stay imo. If in fact the deal is not done yet, from Simeone words, I think they are ready to sell him for the right price.
