Fair enough. Lukaku has never been the answer for me and a Golden Boot won't change it.

Chelsea struggle a lot with CFs, it's quite sad. We're still waiting for the day where we can have 09/10 Drogba up front every season. Even Didier was very inconsistent. You're right, I genuinely can't think of a fully consistent striker in the Roman Era. What a shame.

It's like someone said before: you can't be in top form the first half of the season and suddenly lose your teeth the second season. And it all happened after Conte dropped him for the Leicester match.

We all know what Costa is like, same goes for Hazard and Fabregas: if they get into a row with the manager they drop him like a brick and play like shit. The 15/16 season proved that with the whole them VS Mourinho fiasco.

 

Diego has gone back to fighting with the opponents defenders, falling on his arse all the time and bottling massive chances. He needs to go in the summer.

When he was playing like he did first half of season, he was scoring, not being drawn into players winding him up and you could see although he wanted to leave in summer, after he was happy to be here and was a reborn person but ever since that China offer/rumour came in, it as turned his head and he has gone back to his petulant acts of picking petty fights, falling over and crying wolf to the ref and looks more lazy. We could of scored a couple goals had he decided to move and make space. Hoping this is just a short fix but right now I am not concerned at sight of losing him as same way I am of losing Hazard.

His form dropped in the second half of his debut season. And I'm not 100% sure about this but I think his form tailed off in the second half of his final season for Atleti as well. It's possible he goes full throttle from the moment a new season starts only to wear himself out as a result of it. Or maybe he doesn't possess the mental capacity to be sharp and focused throughout an entire season.

It's very, very, very hard for a player to perform at their best from start to finish, year after year. And it's twice as hard for a forward. That's why those who do manage it are revered (and that's why Cristiano and Messi are gods). It's one of the reasons I've never considered Costa to be world-class.

Trust me, what you said there did cross my mind before and maybe you're right, but it's also hard not to ignore the fact that his form dropped after the interest came from China. Maybe it's a coincidence, maybe not.

It's what you make of it. No one can tell me Costa actually wanted/wants to go to China. You don't know that, I don't know that. He only admitted he desperately wanted to join Atletico in the summer. He didn't even have to say that publicly.

With Torres you just couldn't help but laugh. With Costa it is frustrating because you know he could bury those chances...

Probably has himself to blame for setting the bar high with his early season performances, the China fiasco probably had an effect but I do remember him tailing off in 2014/2015 as well where he got stuck on 18-19 goals.

Seems that history is repeating itself. As long as we win the league I couldn't give a toss though...

Well I don't think any striker out there that we could get will solve this problem. Inconsistencies. 

This is why if we go for lukaku we should not get just him. Lukaku needs a deputy and I can see why morata is being linked because in games like this what was needed a poacher. Morata fits that role. 

Today a llorente or even giroud would be great options to come from the bench. 

Because it's this sort of games where is won by a poachers goal or header type of goal. 

Despite all the shenanigans of Costa for me he is far better then lukaku and would like to build with him in getting someone like morata. 

But if he wants to to China for real then there is nothing we can do and sell him

We have made lots of terrible purchases. Mutu, Crespo, Kezman, Torres, Schevchenko just off the top of my head. 

There is a lot of money in the Premier League but it's all chasing a lot of mediocre players. The real top quality ones go to Madrid/Barcelona/Bayern. Look at the strikers of those teams. They only buy the cream of the cream in terms of talent while we waste our funds on dross. Batshuayi is another pointless signing. 

Other leagues are probably having a laugh at the Premier League teams and the funds their throwing at donkeys. Stones 50m pounds. Martial 60m pounds. And there was a story that Lukaku and Barkley are going to go for 100m pounds combined. The fact that someone can suggest this possibility without being ridiculed shows how crazy things have gotten. 

Summer transfer window is crucial but I hope they don't fuck it up on poor players.

Wouldn't include Martial in there because he has top ability, just being massively wasted at United and Jose the Youth killer. In fact, I'd take him at CFC, would be fantastic with Hazard. But yeah, agree with the rest of your post fully.

i want to understand this. we are mentioning llorente and giroud.

if we compare costa and lukaku who look likely of the two to do what llorente and giroud do. we all know the answer and it isnt costa. he actually doesn't have a head to use in heading balls.

i am asking again can anybody convince themselves that all the crosses that were delivered today, lukaku would not have knocked one in with his head or with is back facing goal . 

i watched his game against greece and he did quite well carring the team to salvage a point and almost take all three in a side without Hazard or KDB
