yes it isnt enough and i admit am a spoilt fan.(what will you call barca or real fans) but i dont need spoilt players. what i mean is this look at suarez when he was at liverpool such a great striker but at barca he has become such a spoilt  striker because he is being fed left and right buy the best players in the world with easy tap ins and rebounds from neymar and messi changes more like left overs. i have know chelsea for as long as i can remember, you have to feed yourself as a striker to succeed(even when fed he still seems to throw away 60-70% of the changes after he has scored one). now you can see the similarity between suarez and costa(thats why he is on their list for a suarez replacement)

Am not saying that both of them dont do what i expect(like against west brom) but it seems so happen once in a blue moon. Yes i will remeber him since he has been the only strike to succeed Drogba. (torres and remy all failing ) but at this point i wish we had a player like Giroud who needs 10-15mins to score goals and not just and goal world class ones. not saying we should go for him thou

'Feed yourself as a striker', what does that mean? Pass the ball to oneself? Giroud is one of the most wasteful forwards in England and Arsenal would laughing all the way to the bank if Chelsea bought him.

Let's look at the actual importance of Giroud v Costa's goals.

  • Two goals in a 4-1 victory over Sunderland
  • Tying goal in a 1-1 draw against Manchester United
  • Winner in a 1-0 victory over West Brom
  • One goal in a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palce
  • One goal in 3-3 draw against Bournemouth
  • One goal in 4-0 victory over Swansea
  • One goal in a 3-1 loss against Chelsea

Purely on the basis of goals, he has scored one winner and only one tying goal. It should be noted that he also had MOTM against Bournemouth. All those teams beside Manchester United and West Brom are in the bottom half of the table

Costa

  • Winner in a 2-1 victory over West Ham
  • Winner in a 2-1 victory over Watford
  • Two goals in a 2-2 draw against Swansea
  • One goal in a 2-1 loss against Liverpool
  • One goal in a 2-0 win over Hull
  • One goal in a 3-0 win over Leicester
  • One goal in a 2-0 win over Southampton
  • One goal in a 5-0 win over Everton
  • Winner 1-0 over Middelsborough
  • One goal in 3-1 win over Manchester City
  • Winner in a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace
  • One goal in a 4-2 win over Stoke
  • One goal in a 2-0 win over Hull

Four winners, a single tying goal and four MOTM performances. Costa has played three time more football than Giroud but has made a far larger impact on his team. When Costa plays well, Chelsea tend to win.

Yes, because we can find a better striker right? Talking about Dybala who is at 5 goals or so this season. Talk about Griezmann who has just about same chances to flop in PL like Pogba. Or Aubameyang who did shit outside of bundesliga. Or Belotti who didnt even complete one top season. Or Lacazette who did shit outside PL.

Man you do know Chelsea in last 18 years, repeating 18 years had only Hasselbaink, Drogba (maybe could throw Gudjohnsen to the mix) and now Costa (who you say is average) who found their feet in our club? And about 10 supposed world class strikers who absolutely failed here?

Who knows how would those strikers do here and we would pay shitload of money to get them, not to mention its not exactly easy to get Dybala or Griezmann. Why change things when Costa is in top scoring form?

Yet you find a striker who in 3 years, brought us two titles (hopefuly 8 points is enough), a striker who scored like 40 goals in 70 games average? Because he doesnt dribble like Eden and because he doesnt have work rate of Kante? Well then...

Talking about out and out quality, there are only Suarez, Lewandowski and obviously Messi/Ronaldo to have equal or better striking ability than Costa. We cant get those players can we? And even if we could someone like you would begin to complain they are average strikers because they dont show up in pyjama at party.

He's what we have for now, but he's not really ideal. I don't care if he stays or goes, but he's done well this season before January-Feb., which was probably more than I was expecting after his 1st two seasons in London. He's up one level this season, but it doesn't make him a great striker for us.

Who the fuck was looking for a striker "for years?" Surely we're not talking about going back to the month CFC stupidly paid 50 mil for a hamstrung F. Torres.

Gudjohnson is contentious as he could be considered an 'attacking midfielder'

Let's list all the failures in recent memory:

  • Sutton
  • Kezman
  • Muttu
  • Torres
  • Remy
  • Batshuayi
  • Pizarro
  • Shevchenko
  • Pato
  • Falcao

Even Crespo was mediocre. I couldn't remember half of these players without Google, also because I've been drinking.

Bats is a failure after 93 mins of Prem action? Lol!

Oh, is that so? I suppose his absolute failure to get minutes isn't indicative of a larger lack of ability, then?

All depends on how you want to evaluate the situation. It has more to do with Conte not feeling him and he isn't the only one right now.
