Conte should have rested him against Qarabag, because Cesc had to start against Liverpool last night. With him we would have controlled the midfield like against United. With Baka and Kante in front of the defence there is enough room for Fabregas to support Hazard and Morata. His job is to link our midfield and attack and we missed this big time yesterday. Hazard and Morata were on their own countless times, because our midfielders and WBs were too defensive most of the time.

Cesc will always have my greatest respect for the professional he is. His commitment and level of performances last season despite limited playing time was outstanding. He's charismatic, a winner, leader, and a great person to have in the dressing room. The captain's armband on him wouldn't look out of place whatsoever. As soon as he went into THAT situation after Kenedy's pass, I knew he will try to do something smart. If it was Willian, Bakayoko, Moses, Alonso or Pedro in his place I wouldn't bat an eye. Was really exciting.

On the other side, I think his (long) passing regressed a bit. He often misses his targets, and don't give me that "he always tries to do something risky and unexpected so of course he misses". I think Eriksen and KDB might be actually better than him at that.

Yea, KDB and Eriksen are probably better at that.. and overall ofc. 

But Cesc is still very good at it and surely is the best we have.

I know, it just doesn't happen very often... Pirlo, Xabi, Xavi, they've all kept their passing ability level until middle 30's, and Cesc is already on downward spiral. Or maybe he was always like that and we overrated him a bit? Don't know...

Dont think we overrated him.. I'm still not 100% convinced that his abillity is in a CONSTANT decrease though. Maybe its just a matter of form.. or maybe he's not as good as he was two years ago but his current level is going to stay the same for the next few years.

Love seeing Cescy on form. If hes got 2 other lads with him he can work wonders. If we had a replacement for Cahill on the Left like what Dave/Andreas are doing and kept Alonso/Moses in form that would give us 6 amazing passers to feed our top 3. give them the freedom to swap about like they do now (with a couple of upgrades) and we would make a proper run at whatever we did.

Should have started today. They forced us wide and there wasn't anyone tall enough to get on the crosses as we missed old rubber neck Morata. Cescy is a great tachticianer and we nreded to find routes thru them.
