Cesc Fabregas: Time for this Chelsea team to prove it has the winning mentality

Telegraph did an exclusive interview with Fabregas..

Great article. I really like the part where it is just a link to this exact page.

Fabregas is so good. He had a look around when the ball was already travelling to him. He had to make the decision in less than a second and it nearly paid off. And he didn't even need to touch it to be brilliant, it was pure vision. And of course Costa chasing it down to the last.

While he was injured, pretty sure he would have been subbed off has he stayed on anyway. Looks slow and not up to it in these tie physical games. Looks like Barcelona fan' criticism of his big match performances are not exactly wrong. At City he was ineffective and same with last week. At least has been racking up those assists in smaller games. Ramires certainly gave us much more energy when he came on, next game against PSG away I would start Ramires instead of Fab.

He will have his better games, when Ramires will play with him and Matic.A good box to box player is the key to bring the best out of Cesc

Fabregas-Ramires

--------Matic

Yep that would be fine too, dropping Oscar though and he shown tonight he can WORK and get himself involved in big matches now.

He's missed me rooting for him all way from Brazil :P

In all seriousness though, he has to be ready for Saturday, we need him, even more so as a #10... although without Yaya I'm not sure only Silva will be enough to cause our defensive midfield that much trouble. I mean Silva is quality, top player, but I think City miss a lot without Yaya. Either way, I'd rather play Rami in the pivot and have Cesc as #10 than have Cesc in the pivot.

I have to admit, he looks like an old man in high tempo games. In fact, he looked like Gerrard. This is not an easy problem to solve.

Coutinho dribbled him around the pitch and it was annoying. Hope he's not injured we have a lot of small teams to play where he'll bag us some points

Mourinho: "Fabregas reported a tight hamstring. He said he wasn't yet injured but that he would be soon if he continued"

From a defensive point of view, him missing the City game might not be such a bad thing..

I don't think it's the end of the world either. José made sure to make the point that Ramires is back to 100% so I can see him starting even if it's just to ensure Fabregas is not risked further injury.
