If we play 3-5-2 or 4-3-3 then absolutely he's still a key man, but in a 4-4-2,4-2-4 I'm not quite sure were he will fit in, for that formation to work the two central midfielders have to be top class defensively, and Cesc certainly isn't that, even Arsene "I don't adapt my principles for anyone" Wenger changed to a 4-3-3 to accommodate Cesc and wouldn't risk him in a 4-4-2.

If it is a 4-4-2 or 4-2-4, there will defo be games where he will be a sub however the teams that sit back, he will be very useful. Even if Fabregas might not fit in Conte's ideal team, I hope and am very positive that Conte will not entertain the idea of selling him. Hopefully Conte can work with him in training sessions to improve his defensive work rate while still adding much needed creativity.

We're going to play 4-4-2 (4-2-4) With Cesc being a sub. Alternatively 4-3-3 if we really do have to make him play every week.
If I see someone putting Fabregas in the "Pirlo" role in a 3-5-2 I'm going to get a stroke. :)

Hopefully one of these dense journo's at the press conference tomorrow ask him which formation he'll be using. Have my doubts. They'll more likely be asking pointless questions about Mourinho and last season than this coming one.

Mourinho can sod off :Goober:

I think Conte is exactly the guy that would take the most from Cesc when he's useful and completely let him go when he's useless. Which is a perfect scenario, use him to his potential, and sideline him when he exposes us (talking about kind of opponents)

I love the guy but he needs to be given time and space if we are going to use him properly (eg feeding or strikers and AMs). IF Kante/Nainggolain etc plus Matic from 2014 with cescy would make the center of the pitch ours.

Then all we need are a couple of defenders!

Cesc will be the biggest challenge for Conte. You kinda have to have Cesc in the starting lineup otherwise I'm not sure how you're creating chances. But how are you going to fit him into a 2-man midfield?

Let conte solve it haha

How about we play.

Formation : 4-3-3.

3 Strikers | Left ST (MICHY BATSHUAYI) / Centre ST (CESC FABREGAS) / Right ST (DIEGO COSTA)

3 MIDFIELD | HAZARD - KANTE - WILLIAN/PEDRO/CUADRADO

4 DEFENDERS | HAVE NO CLUE - WHO SHOULD BE IN DEFENSE.

our defenders don't work well with each other. ( baba / zouma / cahill / azpi / papy d / matt miazga )

john terry and branislav ivanovic - is not in my team at all.
