Nobody is disappointed about Matic leaving. The problem is Man Utd! We could have easily sold him to Juve, probably for less but big clubs don't care about that. Real Madrid sold us Morata for less than Man Utd were offering but they just don't sell players to clubs they don't want to have business with...

Juventus was only willing to pay 25M for him. I'd rather take the 40-50M from Man United.

I'm a big fan of Fabregas but I don't  like him in two man midfield if Conte doesn't change  the formation to three in midfield i would sell fabregas aswell it's pointless keeping a player who can't play in two man midfield

I agree it doesn't work againts great clubs like Bayern,Real,Barcelona etc but againts weaker teams like Burnley he can easily start and also in games where teams don't press much.

So stupid unless we announce another midfielder ourselves within the next few days. 

If Jose switches them to 4-3-3 which he most certainly will if he's spending 40-50m on Matic, then a midfield 3 of Pogba, Herrera, Matic is very, very good. Maybe the best in the league unless we switch to 3 in the middle ourselves when Bakayoko is fit.

Improving a direct rival will leave such a bitter taste in my mouth unless we get a quality player to bolster our team.

It is about time we stop talking about how much we are receiving and start doing something with the money. If that is true, it is a lot of money however the squad is thin. We should have a player lined up before we even consider selling him, which I doubt we do.  Mourinho clearly knows he needs a CM to be a stronger team and look there is us giving him is wish. Why we are even dealing with them after Lukaku stuff, I don't know and they are a direct rival for the title. Matic joining them is going to make Pogba much more of an attacking force next season. And no he is not useless. Ridiculous statement. We don't strengthen another team when they are making clear that is a position they want to strengthen. We made a lot of money due to the title win and Oscar/Ake sales. Why can't the club just spend rather than one in, one out policy and selling to direct rival concerns me. Especially as I think it makes them a lot more of a complete team now.

Couldn't have said it bette myself. I see Chelsea fans here and all over Twitter delighted that were selling Matic and calling him useless. I think José Mourinho knows a bit more than they do. If he's so insistent on buying him and for a huge sum, clearly he thinks Matic will improve them.

We'll be weakening ourselves and at the same time improving a direct rival unless we bring in a player we feel is better.
