Can't understand why the club aren't after Fabinho for Matic replacement. Would be killing two birds in one stone, as he'd provide another option for CM as well as RWB. Unless Monaco aren't willing to sell him after already losing a few key players.

He will be 29 soon, 2 years left on his contract, wants out, not a special player and will never become an integral part in any CL aspiring teams. £50m is fucking insane money in this context, we could reinvest wisely to greatly strengthen ourselves further, while not significantly strengthening our rivals. Hell, I would have sold at 40, 50 is a no-brainer. Just a pity it isn't somebody else bidding that much.

i get it, 50 million is too much to turn down, but only if we invest it properly on replacements, then we will be ok, our squad is getting thin before the start of the season with all these sales and loans

No urgency to sell Fabinho, he is on a long term contract. They can get another year out of him and still sell him for equal if not higher price next summer.

Yeah, that's probably it. Still see him being linked to many clubs tho.

Interesting to see who the club target if/when Matic gets sold to wherever. So far no rumours of the replacement but surely someone must be coming in now that only three senior midfielders in Bakayoko, Kante, Fabregas remain and Baker from the youth department. Chalobah would've been perfect for that role imo, but sadly he's gone and another set of legs will be needed.

Ideally I would have kept Chalobah and brought in an experienced senior squad member to be the default stand-in to Kante-Baka-Cesc with Chalobah providing extra depth. 5 options gives us comfortable depth when playing with 3 CMs, 4 will leave us short. But I completely understand his decision to go, the guy needs to play. I guess it's time we start seriously thinking about Matic's replacement, any thoughts?

difficult to say who´s available to replace Matic, with this crazy market if we were to get someone we would need to overpay

We have replaced Terry with Rudiger, Matic with Bakayoko and Costa with Morata and we have sold or loaned out most of our academy players + Zouma. How come we could challenge in 4 competitions including the CL with such a limited number of experienced players or high quality substitutes? What if we have injuries?

But actually if you think about transfer market. What will be happen then, if freaking nemanja matic even cost for 50 milion. Ffs. Even though the best scenario happen, actually i cannot imagine if one dm which just getting older and not special in any aspect cost that much, it just make transfer market nowadays getting even crazier

I really don't want to help mourinho out in any way, shape or form. Let him struggle and end up with a midfielder whose worse than matic. Jose is a very smart squad builder and if he feels they really need him, that's reason enough not to sell to them imo
