I am a bit late on being on, speechless, what a game that was. Ok luck played a part but about time we got some luck. If a team were going to make a mistake it couldn't happen to a nicer team as city. They were shocking as always, some of the tackles were a disgrace, that Zabelleta(sp?) should have been off and we should have had a penalty. Howard Webb was an embarrassment again, shocking refereeing. Why do these refs get away with trying to engineer results. Forget showing Torres his goal, drag Howard in front of the tv and say "...what the **** were you doing, here, here and here?" Terrible, if it wasn't a penalty shouldn't we have got booked for diving??? Joke absolute joke!!!!

The team played well, it was hard to watch, I have to admit I feared we would lose but we tried very hard and were very strong, ok lack of concentration for their goal but aside from that we were strong.

Torres was a beast, he was everywhere, this really is the rebirth of Fernando Torres he was brilliant, ok he missed a shot bit he more than made up for it with the assist and winning goal. Also wonderful shot hit the post. I couldn't have been more delighted for him. He really deserves some luck. We were shouting "...run, run" it reminded me of the game against Barca when he was upfront alone running, was marvellous. There was a lot of screaming here. Wonderful result against City, really didn't expect it was awesome. I loved Joses reactions throughout the game. He is such a legend. We are so lucky. I really feel this is a special time with the special one back.

Wow I really can't express how amazing that was. If we could just beat Arsenal on Tuesday would be fantastic.

Apart from that 100% chance in the beggining, Torres was amazing. Dribbled like boss, his crossbar shot was awesome and assist wow. Winning goal was city mistake, but haha I laughed so hard at them, fucking cunts. Anyway we did it finaly and hopefuly Torres gets lot of confidence now.

I think it is really nice how Jose has a few times really prodded Torres work rate and care for getting better. I think he thought he was this washed up striker hiding under £50m who didn't care, I am very proud of Torres and Jose, working hard together.

cech - poor by his standards to let that goal in. near post. one of those poor moments. but knowing cech, i expect 5 clean sheets in the next 5 games. 5/10

ivanovic - very good game. got well ahead and read the game brilliantly a couple of times. was very central in defence as both silva and nasri were pretty central. his moment against clichy when he nut-megged him was awesome. 7/10

cahill - same mistake. he is found out against good strikers. definitely not a WC defender but a pretty decent defender. his and JT's combo at the back is pretty solid and anything played into the D is dealt with brilliantly... 6/10

JT- another brilliant performance. he is showing that he is still our best defender and a WC defender at that. was beaten for pace once but cant think of anything other moment when he was in trouble. 8/10

cole - his best PL performance this season. was solid and supported hazard/schurrle brilliantly. he is slowly but steadily coming back to his own. 8/10

RAMBO - LIKE A FUCKING BOSS. what a performance. what a brilliant unbelievable performance!!! i have never seen yaya been subdued by another player , the way rambo did to him. just awesome. his ball to torres which he missed, his cross, his defendinf, running... i mean his EVERY-FUCKING-THING was brilliant. 10/10

lamps- played better than i and most here expected. was pretty decent compared to mikel who let silva and fernandinho run free. lamps put in hard tackles and complimented rambo well. 7/10

hazard - was good. took zabaleta/clichy on a few times. dint get as much purchase as i thought he would but a decent game nonetheles. 7/10

schurlle - pretty much the same as hazard. the only difference was, he got the all-important goal and tracked back way better than hazard. 8/10

oscar - very subdued. dint provide the link-up that was needed. but defensively was good. 7/10

torres - missed a sitter. went past clichy like he was not even there. hit the post like a shot so similar to the one that he scored against us with. (got on the wrong side of iva and curled it in, liverpool away, 2-0 defeat). he was direct, strong, pacy. his workrate was BRILLIANT and that is why he got his goal. to chase that ball down was like mou said "BELIEF". i have no idea what jose is doing to him, but god-damn, now he is looking like a 50mil striker. 9.5/10

subs -

willian - was really sparky since he came on. a direct sub for schurlle. decent 20 odd minutes. 7/10

mikel - poor. u r a DM and u cant tackle and not just that, he let fernandinho and navas run past him so easily that it seemed like a joke. he has to get his act together to have a chance playing for mou. 5/10

etoo - not much time to do anything. but for his clearance which hit zabaleta and earned us the thrown at the end, i ll say he was good. N/A

this has to be the result that will make us the favourites. arsenal will drop points in the coming weeks with the kind of fixtures they have, pool too and tottenham's luck will run-out sooner rather than later (how they keep getting those lucky calls for penalties is beyond me).

Now THAT is harsh... He still made some incredibly timely saves on Silva and Aguero. He should've had the goal but 5/10 seems wrong.

I loved the fact that Schurrle assumed that he was being asked about Torres' goal rather than his own...he readily acknowledged Torres' contribution to his goal..finally looks like our attacking players are gaining confidence in Torres and might get over their reluctance to feed him...

Fabulous game. To take all three points from this contest was a must for me and the lads did just enough to get the result.

Jose Mourinho.... Few can argue he is the best trainer/manager in the game. How he's gotten Torres looking like a potent threat is remarkable, yes a lot of it comes down to Nando but its hard to ignore the contribution Jose has made.

We just beat a VERY good side nothing to get overly excited about mainly because they were without Kompany who is without a doubt their most important player. They will be there in the end and we will have to be much better to beat them at Etihad.

So we've now played City at home, Tottenham, Utd and Everton away and have come away with 5pts... Its not incredible but that is definitely not bad at all for a squad 9 games into a new season and manager.

Heads down now, we need maximum points from 90% of the games we will play Newcastle, West Ham, Sunderland and Stoke City away are must wins and the same can be said for West Brom and Crystal Palace at home. 18pts up for grabs I say anything under 15 is a disappointment, its not hard to envision us taking all 18...

We beat a wounded team today but it will do loads for our confidence going forward. Nando is scoring, Eto'o will score more and our defense is looking steely, all the signs are there for a good run of games.
