Well Luiz is a defender. You'd expect him to tackle better.

Eto'o is a striker and Costa mugged him. Don't forget Eto'o got plenty of grief for his 'tackle' on Suarez earlier in the season which should've been a penalty because it was stupid. This one was just a guy trying his best and simply not being very good at something. That's somewhat forgivable.

Ideally he shouldn't have been on the pitch in the first place but we had to chase the game.

From Jose words today, it seems Eto'o will be leaving. It is a shame, his last match was that Atletico match.

Anyway, I don't have any bad words for him. He is one of the best of true professional player. Good luck for him, and we will never forget all of your goals, especially that hattrick against MU.

I think it was inevitable that Eto'o would be one of the summer exits.

I acknowledge his services and important goals for us this season, but to pay huge amounts a week for a player in his mid-30s was always going to be a risk not to take.

Shame how it ended but injuries aside it was a good year. 12 goals and 6 assists is a respectable return.

Always tried, that's what i like about him. And he was getting into a good run of form before the injury against Arsenal. A shame if he does leave, i'm sure he has one more season as a 3/4 choice.

Whoever gets him now will have a refreshed and polished Eto'o. Probably should have signed him on a 2 year deal so we could have gotten something from this but oh well.

It's been a genuine pleasure to see one of the best strikers play for Chelsea (albeit in the twilight of his career).

I wasn't on board with the signing from the beginning but the guys performances and attitude changed my mind. Some cracking goals and seemingly a great guy! Cheers Sammy boy! Top player!
