Vybz Kartel 1,613
Just seems you read the papers too much. You do know they are never far from the truth. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to see that Mourinho is not a fan of Mata of which I totally disagree with him. he might say otherwise but the signs point to a sell of our best player
Barbara 15,149
This guy uploaded the picture. Somebody can translate the another pictures?http://instagram.com/phelipestylohe's Willian's personal life friend. I'll translate because I don't know if someone else already did it)I won't translate it all because there are a lot of expressions that only make sense in Portuguese - slang and stuff - some of which I don't even know the meaning (I personally love 'O choro é livre' it reminds me of my brother who says it all the time and can be translated to 'Moping is for free')"Everything has its perfect timing. Friday my whatspp flashed a message from my friend @willianborges88 saying: 'bro check the sports sites'. Saturday he sends me this picture [i guess it's the one where he's wearing the #21 shirt in a stretcher] and says: 'my dream came true. I've cried, I've laughed, I've prayed, I've come to my knees and I don't even know what I feel anymore, I can't even type, it's more happiness than I can take, I'm signing with #Chelsea'. As I read those words a movie of his story was shown in front of me. Someone I'm honored to say I'm friends with and the small part of his story I've known in those 7 years we've been friends made me as happy as he was. From Celso Garcia to London. An exemplar professional, he left Corinthians the year the team was relegated and in 38 matches he scored only twice, being criticized by many, but having the support of others. But who knew him never doubted his potential. He went 'hiding' into East Europe (Ukrainian football). [People said] He went there only because of money. This boy is going to disappear in the football world. A year from now and nobody remembers who he is anymore. Still he went and have accomplished things that were until then unknown [i guess to him] such as being national champion many times, winning the UEFA League, winning best player in the league and more. That was how he built a winning career without ever losing the focus. I'm not going to name the many that were a step ahead of him in their careers and who dismissed a fellow player. If I mention the names it's going to cause a stir because they don't even play amateurs leagues now. A cab driver didn't want to take us because it was two black boys wanting to have a ride in a cab. Who called him a mercenary doesn't know what they're talking about. Thanks God those stories belong to the past. From now on only great things are to come and we'll laugh about it all. And here we are, friends, family, fans e you @WillianBorges88 thanking God for this chance that few will have in their careers. Nowadays the boys aren't even out of youth yet and their bodies are already covered in tattoos, holding a mobile and wearing fancy clothes, going to VIP areas in the night clubs, scoring half a dozen bodies and thinking they're already top players. Freeze the emotion, hold back a little, consolidate the career first before owning the social networks. Becoming a player is easy, the hard part is having a job and playing. There, I said it. Willian is Chelsea and the moping is for free"I really love how emotional Willian is about this transfer and I guess the old rumors that his dream has always been playing for Chelsea are true after all. He wouldn't send such messages to his friend if it was just another move for him.
Vybz Kartel 1,613
Why would you care about spending unnecessary money? We will still get a striker, because Jose gets what he wants.I care because we are now in FFP rules period and unnecessary spending might get us in trouble also I don't like it because it means a player like Mata who has been our best player for the last 2 seasons will be treated with disrespect. Also it means we wont give youth players a chance to shine if we keep making unnecessary expensive signings because they will need to justify the prize tag thus will get plenty of game time even if they do not deserve it

If we were ever gonna move Mata it would be for BIG, BIG money there aren't many teams who could afford to pay it.

Of all the rumours floating around the club this one is the most retarded. Unless someone comes in with an offer we can't refuse Mata will be in Chelsea blue for years to come. He's building a legendary career here Jose won't sell him two months into his tenure... You have any idea how stupid that sounds? And what's worse is you think Willian is the reason for it? WILLIAN? come on dude...

Thomas Williams 166
You Willian haters will be eating your words when Hazard, Mata, Oscar, De Bruyne, and Schurrle are injured at the same time. Luckily, we'll be able to play Willian, Moses, and Ramires in the attacking band in that emergency.
Badboy 1,526
I think they've signed him because only Hazard from the three we have behind the striker has any sort of pace. Oscar is no slouch but his pace is different its more of a midfielders burst but Willian has sustainable pace and he has a good cross from the left flank he can also see a pass. At the end of the day we are going to play an absolute shit load of games and we all know what the Christmas period is like ! Kevin and Oscar are both versatile enough to play in the pivot next to Ramires..... Willian can play right across the 3 behind the striker. Imagine if we lose Hazard to injury ? He's the only player we have who is fast behind the striker we'd be easy to defend against. Moses is on his way in my opinion !
The Skipper 20,609
People need to understand that those that are not really as supportive of this transfer as others are are not actually saying Willian is a bad player. I've made my concerns known but it doesn't mean I think Willian is rubbish. I actually rate him as a player - it's the ramifications surrounding the signing that's bothering me.No one actually dislikes the player - the concern is aimed at the actual transfer. You don't need to explain to us that he's a good player.
Hutcho 8,443
Well it's official now. So welcome, and I hope he does very well. Picking the team just got harder. But hey I would rather have too many options than not enough.

Had we not signed schurrle, this would have been a great signing but at this point in time its a bad signing
Jype 6,398
You Willian haters will be eating your words when Hazard, Mata, Oscar, De Bruyne, and Schurrle are injured at the same time. Luckily, we'll be able to play Willian, Moses, and Ramires in the attacking band in that emergency. Like that's ever going to happen. You do realize that the odds on all five being injured at the same time is basically equal to the odds on me shagging Mila Kunis tonight and waking up the next morning to a text message saying I've won the lottery? Spending £30m on a sixth choice AM who's only desperately needed in case of severe injuries (essentially how you just described the player and his role in the team) would be beyond ridiculous and the idea of him becoming a key player by driving one of our current quality players away doesn't sound that good to me either. You need to get your head straight, there's no such thing as a 'Willian hater' out there, unless we're talking about Spurs fans, but that doesn't mean we have to be overly excited about the signing and not to worry about what might happen to some of the players we've already grown to love. Of course now that he has signed every single one of us who opposed to this transfer will support him no matter what and acknowledge the fact that we are talking about a lad who's very, very talented but are we not allowed to share with you our concerns about what kind of impact this signing can potentially have on the rest of the squad? Vybz Kartel 1,613
I believe that he will always be judged by Mata if Mata does leave ie in terms of assists and goals.

You don't need to explain to us that he's a good player.Thanks. There are three other positions that need upgrades and we are spending big money on a position where we have an abundance of talent. What is this other than very very stupid ? We weren't interested in Willian till now and it seems Mourniho made a strong push to acquire him. It obviously means he doesn't rate one of our creative midfielders. This signing is only going to make headaches. How do you juggle so many players in midfield ? What I don't understand is why couldn't we have spent some extra money in signing a world class striker rather than spend it on a position we don't need at all. So if we end up signing WIllian and Rooney, we would have been much better off spending that money on Cavani or Falcao.
Stingray 9,441
Im quite sure that Willian will be in the starting Eleven most of the time.He is an asset... he is an 8 goal 15 assist kinda player. In his time from 09 to now : Total: 156 apps 29 goals 51 assists Remembering he isnt 21 anymore ..... This is him. Hazard is younger n better, Oscar has a different skill set, Kdb is younger and has 10/9. So ... These guys will still grow. Exciting to have all this :-)
