To be honest at some point I had completely forgotten about him. Unfortunately he had a similar fate with Romeu with a season long injury and I expect him to be loaned just like Oriol, without many prospects for the future at The Bridge.

I'm positive he's staying... there's no reason for him to leave, if Mourinho wanted him here last year, I don't see why he wouldn't now that we don't have Luiz, Mikel is likely to leave and probably won't have Lampard either.

different situation ,, see no reason for him being sent out on loan

There's just something about him that fills me with confidence about his chances of making it here, mind you I've only watched him a handful of times at Vitesse and also in the U-21 Championship but I think he could be a starter for us. If only Ramires could pass a ball, then we could put off buying a CM and just gamble on Van Ginkel.

“I played little this season and I’m finally fit again,”

“Top bad he’s leaving, especially for the club.

“But for me it’s an advantage, though naturally you never know if they have picked a new player to replace Lampard.

“I want to at least be 100 per cent fit while preparing for the new season, so that should still happen this summer.

“I’m preparing to start the new season at Chelsea and it is my goal to continue there instead of going on loan.”

Don't think his situation improved than last season. If anything, it's become harder for him with Cesc and Tiago likely coming in. But Jose seems to have faith in him so I'm sure he'll get his fair chances if he manages to stay fit.

He was injured for vast majority of the season, surely his situation can only improve.
