huh?

try again.

hazard 90%

fabregas 88%

77% and 81% were the stats they showed on ESPN. I didn't made them up, I even said if I remembered correctly. I don't know if they were 77 and 81 exactly but they were definitely lower than 90 and 88. If ESPN got them wrong it's another story.

nothing I saw would suggest they were 77 and 81% from what I saw, they were both brilliant

That's why it caught my attention, I thought they were surprisingly low for what I had seen in the match.

Schurrle has been poor this season and needs to be dropped. Hard working he is, didn't stop us criticising Oscar and Willian last season. Winning the word cup gives you some sort of immunity to criticism.

I don't think Schurrle was as bad as people have made him out to be against Arsenal. Yes, he was somewhat unproductive going forward in the game but who else really did anyway? Completely worked his socks off both offensively and defensively and played like someone who wanted to make things happen.

We want someone to criticize; even when we win!

Schurrle did some mistakes yesterday. All and all i think i can remember 2 or 3 good chances when he killed our attack with his desicion or poor execution of a pass. Other than that he did very well. I think he just needs a bit more time to work, because he is getting very lazy and predictable when he has the ball. Also his partnership with Costa needs more work. Atm though our other AMs are doing fine and that provides a sufficient cover for his bad spell.

He was bad against Bolton, against Sporting and now against Arsenal... We shouldn't criticize!

Forget something between those matches? Like his excellent performance and goal against City? :D

And I think he was great against Sporting apart from the finishing.

That REALLY is not saying much. Most of players yesterday had great performances yesterday and no one had a bad game, imo, Andre included.

He has been a tad below average his last few appearences, the exception being vs City where he came off the bench. He needs to come off the bench for the next few games.

I agree. His form has been sub par in the past couple of weeks, but things like "not Chelsea level" or "doesn't suite our style of play" or saying that he can't play better than he has played in the past weeks implying that he is a poor player is just too fickle even for football fans!

No two ways about it and no bias involved, Schurrle was by far the worst player on the pitch and has been dreadful recently. He literally had a negative output every time he touched the ball. He makes everybody look worse and destroyed so many attacking opportunities. His best role right now is that of a super sub. Suits his qualities perfectly.

This was always going to happen when you overhype players to extreme.

Last summer you couldn't say a bad word against KDB without getting hounded out of this forum, this summer after the WC it was Schurlle.

For some reason every summer a random squad player or new arrival turns into an over hyping machine which brings an enevitable meltdown when he turns out to be not as good as initially hyped during the off season, this summer Andre, last year KDB, year before Bertrand, year before that Romeu, year before that Bruma etc etc. Next year (to replace Cech who won't stay on bench for more than a season) we will probably sign a South American keeper who shines at the Copa America and we will have post after post about how amazing he is and that Courtois might be benched.

Schurlle is who he is, he is not Hazard but a decent enough player in the squad who has his role to play, expectations of him after the WC were way way to high.

Absolutely agree, those statements are just idiotic. He is just in a bad dip of form, it'll blow over, till then he needs to come off the bench when we're up to take off any pressure he may have on him.

Excellent performance?? Coming on and scoring against 10 men and immediately after that he was also responsible for the counter-goal (with Ivanovic).

Anyway, he's a good player. Just not regular starting XI material... he lacks the technical ability to control the ball and keeping vision of his teammates under pressure. And yes ,Mourinho was right to start him against Sporting and Arsenal. These are the games that where most suited to his strengths. Both teams normally play with a high defensive line and don't play a pressing game, we needed players to exploit the space they provide. Arsenal did play alot tighter than last year though.

For Germany he never started a game of real importance (he was subbed on early in the final to cover for a injury) clearly Löw had his reasons. Willian and Schürrle should be quality enough though to fight for the title.
