BlueLyon 9,359
It'll more be the fact that Adidas likely won't have the shirts ready yet. I assume seeing as our contract with Yokohama begins in July we'll be wearing our new Yokohama sponsored kit for the first time on our USA tour.Adidas have probably been told to have the shirts ready for a reveal on something like the 1st July. So we'll see around the end of June/early July the new shirts I imagine. It's easy to stick Yokohama on some boards around the stadium, less easy to get the shirts designed so quickly .All true, but I dont think we would advertise yokohama in june if deal would start in july. or would we I dunno..I think there is no connection with fact that it takes time to make new shirts and when deal officialy starts. Deal could start in june, but merchandise would start selling later in month when all would be designed and created. Not sure what was adidas doing the past two months when it was pretty much clear who will be our new sponsor though. If the knew they didn't have to have ours done until July they'd focus on all the other kits they have to do.
RoyalBlues 4,050
The Yokohama deal with Chelsea doesn't officially start till the 1st of July 2015, so the 2015/16 kits will be revealed then #CFC
Duppy Conqueror 1,543
I haven`t bought a jersey for about 28 years...was given the black away one from about 2002 and the epic white with blue stripe from a couple of seasons later as Christmas presents from the wife of the time.don`t really like wearing football shirts due to the feel of them..(cotton will always be king) but always take an interest in them just to see how the boys will look on the pitch. iseah100 and LDN Blue

Adnane 1,101
I don't think that's the new kit. We changed the sponsor for that game, guess they didn't have the regular one ready, and made one with the closest template.
ulsterchelsea 3,221
I don't think that's the new kit. We changed the sponsor for that game, guess they didn't have the regular one ready, and made one with the closest template. They had all the other kits ready so don't see why they'd have an issue getting a couple of GK shirts sorted. Plus it would make more sense to just put chelsea foundation on our normal shirt than get a completely new shirt for a one off. It's not like they have to run to the nearest sports direct to buy one Steve
Adnane 1,101
Yeah, but the "the new kit leaked for a WHOLE GAME" theory is even worse than mine.
nullabletype 987
Yeah, but the "the new kit leaked for a WHOLE GAME" theory is even worse than mine. It's the goalkeeper kit. A kit hotly anticipated by basically nobody and one not really worth keeping under wraps. Wouldn't be surprised if he wore it simply because it was ready. In reality, it's not going to ruin the outfield kit reveal which is the one that generates all the revenue and which the fans care about. ulsterchelsea
Adnane 1,101
Not convinced.Plus the kids look like the generic Adidas templates, nowhere near Chelsea GK kit material we're used to.
nullabletype 987
The main reason I'd see for it not being the new one is not the template but the fact that I doubt they would opt for the same colour. Just strange that they couldn't of got their hands on the normal kit for that game, if that is the case.
DavidEU 2,023
I think that kit will be used this season, but they'll be another one too. Possibly the same template. We won't reveal two red goalkeeper kits in successive seasons. The yellow one will be replaced this year. We'll have a red one and another one. Popular Post! BlueLion. 21,491 Posted June 9, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted June 9, 2015 Just looks like an updated version of last season's kit that will be used as the secondary GK shirt last season.Another example is, in 2010/11, Cech wore an updated version of the 2009/10 home goalkeeper kit against MSK Zilina [away] in the UCL.Original:Updated for the 2010/11 season with new template:You'll note the sleeve design is totally different, without all the excessive green stitching. Instead it is the 2009 colourway of the 2010 adidas goalkeeper shirt template:Only sad bastards like me would notice the very intricate differences, but adidas do this quite regularly. That shirt will probably be our second-choice GK shirt for next term.In 2006/07, adidas gave us one new GK kit (two different colourways, which we used to mix and match, for instance click here for a picture of Cech that season in a mixture of both):Home:Away:In 2007/08 we kept the grey (above) as our second choice GK kit; the navy (above) as our third choice GK kit, and introduced this new primary strip:in 2008/09 we used the black (above) as a third goalkeeper strip, but it was never used, as the primary kit was the orange number below (home):We also had this gorgeous away kit (same style, different colourway), which we never actually wore (apart from in promos):in 2009/10 we retained the orange kit as a back-up kit to this:In 2010/11, the above kit was retained (albeit in a modified style) as a second GK strip, with the following as a primary shirt:in 2011/12, we had a brand new white primary strip (below), but we retained the above black kit as a secondary kit (worn vs Barcelona in the 2-2, for instance, but noticeably it went back to the old 2009/10 version rather than the updated style) and the green as a third kit (worn vs Leicester in the 5-2 FA Cup game, for instance):For the 2012/13 season we had that gorgeous green and gold kit, with the white retained as a second strip and worn, actually, surprisingly regularly due to referees regularly wearing green that season:For 2013/14 we had the bumblebee kit, with the green/gold number retained as a secondary kit:And this year we had the red/orange number, whilst the yellow was retained as a secondary strip but also worn regularly due to the number of teams wearing red in the Premier League:My point being that one GK kit is usually retained for the following season. In agreement with you mate. I've only got the one from 2009 and that's purely for memorabilia purposes, I don't generally wear that either. Viper22 2,418
I can't believe I never noticed that!! Likelihood that we'll have a new GK kit for the next season and keep the red kit as the backup then.Let's play guess the colour!! I'm going to go with Black/Gold.
