We'll see how much action he gets but this definitely silences the homegrown brigade who say Chelsea aren't trying to get HG talent into the first team... Its up to Baker to get more appearances now, he's there.

Danny Boyukliev 32
Mikel, Varane, Huth, Sinclair and Ballotelli say hiOut of those only Huth was from the academy of Jose's team.Mikel was bought for £16m, Varane was bought £10+m too. Sinclair is not the perfect example as he played only several games (most of them as a sub) under Mourinho.Balotelli had 7 goals after Jose took charge of Inter and he was already instrumental for the team.We have to admit that finding and developing young talents is not Mourinho's best skill. Mikel got games as a teenager when he was competing with serial winners, Mou could have easily dumped him in the reserves for a year and fobbed the media off with he's still young and we need all the expierence line.Sinclair was brought on for his Chelsea debut as a 17 year old in a game we needed to win to stay in the title hunt, he didn't play much after under Mou but his hand was kind off forced due to the small matter of Scott breaking his leg and not recovering until after Jose left. Then again with Huth, he got 40 games under Jose in two season's despite being up against the 3 best CBs in England if not Europe, again that's pretty good numbers, especially when you consider Huth wasn't that good. This myth that Jose is some anti youth extremist is built on a mix of an agenda and an embarrassing lack of research, he is no worse than most in this current climate. Madmax 9,219
What's the best way to develop Lewis Baker? The Skipper
Gilvorak 3,734
Stop making excuses for Jose's atrocious youth development record. The only youth player he's developed over the years that wasn't a multi-million pound transfer is Davide Santon. I think if he was truly interested in giving these players chances then Baker would have played against Bolton in a near-worthless competition like the COC.EDIT: Lythell makes several good points in that article. Interested to learn Baker trained with England's senior squad earlier, delighted for him. DYC.
