A player can rest even though they've travelled... the game isnt till sunday. they will be back thursday night, id imagine they will fly back after the game. friday will be a rest day. saturday will be light training and some tactics. there would be no harm in playing them in this game for the full 90 as long as the tempo wasn't so high. but playing 45 minutes would be fine. id imagine they will be on the bench, and will only make an appearance after 60minutes if we need a goal from somewhere/ or play the first half and come off at half time.

I wouldnt worry about rest, they would have thought it through and planned it out just nicely.

if someone picks up an injury, then its a different story!

Well said. Of course players could travel with the team. Whatever Rafa decides still remains to be seen.

These are athletes & not some old fogies who get tired just by walking around.

This won't be easy - but it won't be hard. I expect 'em to attack us harder than Praque, thus leaving space in the midfield for us to exploit. They play much more expansive football than Sparta which usually benefits the likes of Hazard/Moses, doesn't it? :halo:

Benitez' thoughts on Steaua: "Tactically it is a good team. Players with talent. We have been watching games and seen what we have to see."

Benitez: "Steaua is a team capable of pressing high but also playing on the counter-attack, and they can play out from the back."

Rafa: "Steaua has good balance. Latovlevic, Popa and Rusescu are dangerous players. We'll see how Steaua plays and adapt to that."

Benitez: "We have a good group of players, we have to manage them because we have a lot of games, I don't think fatigue is a problem."

Fun Fact: Chelsea and Steaua Bucharest are 2 of only 6 teams from a European capital city that have won the European Cup/Champions League.

Red Star Belgrade, Ajax, Benfica and Real Madrid are the other 4.
