James 5,313
In what could be a developing scandal at Chelsea, midfielder Florent Malouda is telling the media that he is set to "explode" details regarding his relegation the U-21 squad as soon as his contract with the team expires during the summer.Malouda has not been in the main squad since the end of July and was told to join the U-21 squad until his contract expires. Over the summer Malouda had requested to be transferred away from Stamford Bridge, talks with teams broke down after Malouda reportedly refused a reduction in salary. In an interview with the France-Guyane, Malouda stated that "The details, I'm going to explode them when I'm free, but the strategy employed is to make me look like a player who wants to be paid a lot. It's underhand, but it makes me smile more than anything else because it shows just how much esteem those people have for me."If the details regarding his relegation are underhanded like he claims, the incident could give the club a black eye in the media and even interfere with EPL sponsorship deals like the one the club has with 188bet. Companies are not usually keen to be associated with organizations that are working underhanded deals. With that said, this could just be a case of sour grapes on the part of Malouda. So far, he seems to be the only person really causing any controversy over the matter. Back in September he tweeted a photo of him entering the U-21 team's facility saying that "This is where I'll train for my last season with the blues."Malouda also claims the team is trying to break him by the relegation saying that "If you're excluded for a whole year, it's very, very long. You have to be ready mentally. All of this is being done to break me mentally. In reality, it motivates me hugely."Whether or not this is just a publicity stunt to make Malouda look better in the eyes of any future team prospects remains to be seen. Considering his lackluster overall efforts in the 2011-12 season, there is a strong chance that his relegation is due to ability and his unwillingness to make a move rather than underhanded dealings. However, we will find out more from Malouda on the matter later this summer once his contract expires.Click here to view the article

Wasn't Torres threatening to tell the real story of leaving Liverpool? Chelsea is going to look bad because they already look bad from this, but they are paying his contract so it's not like they're screwing him, so it's a minor issue that won't result in any loss of sponsorship or anything. Amblève. 4,995
Tbh, I'm looking forward to hear what he's got to say. Sure, Malouda has never been known for being a lamb himself but it will be great to hear some insider talking about the things going on at the club. Ollie 4,400
I am curious to see what this is all about because once Robbie left, i expected him to maybe get a recall. Rafa's in and it's still the same story so it's obviously the owner and the higher powers that have decided that he'll never play for us again. Also, if he doesn't like being in the U21's, just quit. I'm sure he's not exactly poor and needing money to pay his rent, these footballers at this level get paid like 60k a week ffs, it takes me 5 years to get that. I am looking forward to hearing the details though but do think he should just piss off and go. He doesn't have to stay. I do thank him though for what he's given us. I think they actually should have just come to a buyout settlement once he was not going to get transferred. Pay him a mutually agreed upon percentage of his remaining salary and release him (maybe with a clause that he can't play in the Premier League or against Chelsea or something). Chelsea save money. Malouda gets all in all, probably the same amount of money and gets to play. There are so many ways that this could have been handled better. Mceachran 109
If he's not scoring 15 goals a game in the u-21 games then I don't wanna hear about conspiracy.
OneMoSalah 8,886
Tbh with the Europa League we could of used Flo. Hes not as good as he once was as hes on the wrong side of 30 but still, would have been decent to use as an AM rotation option rather than Benaybellend
Naked Mole Rat 437
I'm also interested to hear what he has to say, but I doubt he has anything shocking to share. At any rate, I can't see how generating media hype on what he's about to say would benefit him.

GodZola 630
Karen Brady wrote a little bit about Malouda after the summer transfer window were he turned West Ham down, she stopped short of calling him a greedy bar-steward, says it all really! For once I'm with the hierarchy on this one, they were open & honest with him, he had opportunitys to go but decided to stay & pick up a bigger slice, he had choice.& that's more than us mere mortals get nowadays, shut your trap Malouda, its your own fault.Never rated him, one season wonder, a very poor man's Robben - nough said.
