Fernando Torres

When Kenyon took away Gallas' number 13 and gave it to Ballack without permission, Gallas was so pissed.. that he left because of it. Gourlay could learn a few things from Kenyon, *wink wink*.

I like how your brain works  But that would be marketing suicide. Adidas would probably assasinate Gourlay before he does that! :P

Taking his number off him, putting him in the reserves, etc. would be incredibly harsh. Yes he's now a rubbish footballer, a mercenary perhaps (aren't we all?!) but he's not a bad guy.

if you said this about Ba I would agree, however Torres attitude had stunk for a long time, after the I didnt care comments (which I will never forgive him for and is the main reason he is the only player I grew to dislike while playing for Chelsea) i would never feel sorry for any way he gets treated here (professionally).

If this happens I would have no sympathy for him whatsoever, but unfortunately like Choulo said, it won't happen for commercial reasons.

True his attitude has been poor for a while and we all know that he is just staying here for the money, but putting him in the reserves (hypothetically speaking) would be beneficial for neither side. It would look incredibly bad on the club as it would gather a lot of publicity - Torres is still a big name worldwide.

It is sad to think that the only reason he is still here is because of marketing.

He's an asset - if he isn't doing it on the pitch then he needs to do it off it...

I think people are still perpetually stunned at the shell of a player we have before us - I've seen more confidence in an AA meeting at a brewery...

Such a shame really - but who knows, this is his season right ;) Fabregas is the closest thing to Gerrards passing we have ;)

Let's live in hope. The only other option is for Roman to buy a time machine, and take him back to his glory days. LOL!

He doesn't deserve to get thrown into reserves? Even reserve players are better than him. After those comments about that system doesn't suit him, that it's club's fault that he's missing open goal on regular basis or whatnot and licking gerrard's ass, he is a prick who doesn't deserve to wear chelsea shirt.

Also, I don't think that there is a worse player than Torres in club, he just sucks and I can't wait to see him leave.

Diego Costa sends warning to Fernando Torres

Chelsea's new signing tells striker that he will score straight away

Chelsea's latest Summer signing, Diego Costa, has sent a warning message to his own team-mate, Fernando Torres, warning him that he will hit the ground running in front of goal for his new club.

The Spaniard has become the latest expensive striker to seal a move to Stamford Bridge, but in recent times, not many of their strikers have become successful at The Bridge, with Torres being one of them, who the club signed for £50million from Liverpool.

However, their latest purchase, who cost them £32m, has warned his strike partner that goals will come fast for him at his new club and he promises that he will adapt to the Premier League quickly.

Costa said: "It's always good to have competition. The important thing for a big club is having great players.

"Torres is a great player, I know I will have to fight hard to be among the team but I like that. So I think it will be a clean and healthy competition.

"I am hopeful for what is happening in my life and I will adapt well.

"I have wanted to play in the Premier League for a long time and I think it will be a very good and fast adaptation."

"I do not think there will be many changes to the style of play (compared with Atletico). Chelsea are a great team and the Premier League is good to play in."

“Everybody knows it is a big club in a very competitive league, and I am very excited to get started in England with a fantastic coach and team-mate

Don't get your hopes up. Who will be our strikers? Costa, Bamford.....who else?

Costa, Lukaku and the money we get for Torres some new and upcoming guy for cheap. But please anybody but Torres. I don't see Bamford being promoted to first squad as yet

Don't want to dash anyone's hopes...but its looking increasingly likely that Costa and Torres will be 1'st and 2'nd choice strikers next season...

"Fernando Torres is set to join Inter Milan. He's just cut short a holiday in Cyprus to go to Italy and have talks with club officials."

Unfortunately, it seems just a made up rumour. Torres and Fabregas in Italy for a holiday.
