Bosnian Blue 2,471
Do you think Torres was a factor in the dismissal of Andrรฉ ? If I remind correctly, his former agent told the press it was Andrรฉ's fault for Torres not finding form. So one could think it did not fall into dumb ears. And, in purpose to find a way to not look like fools with our 50 millions pound investment... If you know where I come from. Yeah, I think he was in that group. manpe 10,861
Torres's form and detrimental effect morally to the team was without a doubt a part of the reason. Hodgson couldn't make him play, del Bosque couldn't do it, Carlo couldn't, AVB couldn't.... he has run out of excuses. That's 4 coaches, 3 of them world class who couldn't work with him. He demands too much resources, financially and footballing wise.

I'm pretty sure we would got a chance over Drogba is he had scored a few goals...
Slam Dunk 1,442
I try not to take much notice of Torres anymore. Frankly, i'm bored of him. For the good of himself/the club, he needs to leave. manpe, francozola and DYC.
Badboy 1,526
I really really feel sorry for him now. Watching Torres trying to do the things he used to do and watching him fail consistently is just horrible, that chance he had today would of been a goal at Liverpool. He rejected the penalty because if he had missed he would of sunk into a new low and that would of destroyed him. Sheva.
manpe 10,861
When he gets a rare chance to attempt a clean shot, he doesn't seem to know what to do, hence he puts in half-assed inaccurate shots. It literally feels as if he panics when he gets a good look at the goal.He needs psychological help. It's not the system, it's his head. LDN Blue 7,903
It was a standard Torres show. We're lucky we can find goals from other sources. As Slam Dunk said, I'm bored of him now, we've over-psycho-analysed him in so many ways possible now. I'm at that point where I'm just like "yeah, meh" when I hear of him. He's finished, he was just one of those players like Kaka who had 3 years of absolute brilliance and then capitulated. I think he's gone 24 hours of football without a goal, that is a whole day and night of football without scoring. The last player I seen have that much of a shocker in front of goal was when Crouch joined Liverpool back in 05, we absolutely ripped Crouch to death on the old forum and now its happened to us. It's like, I do feel sorry for him and of course he's a Chelsea player so I wish him well. But it's just like "yeah, it ain't happening.. Again," so it's like we're getting used the crap performances we're getting and there's no point in analysing it. Every game, we see the same thing, even if it's a slight improvement, it's just not enough. So yeah, it's the same sh't till June and we should just get used to it now. Hopefully Di Matteo will just throw Lukaku in there now.
Ollie 4,400
Yep, he seems done now. Dunno what has actually happened to him but he's really suffering. Can still cross and pass well tho, put him on the right, he's always done well out there, even for the dippers.

LDN Blue 7,903
I'm glad someone else noticed, it seems I'm watching a totally different game to most on here most of the time. He could of had 3 assists with the chance Mata had in the opening few minutes. His confidence is still shot though but this performance will go a long way in restoring it.We say this after every good performance though and it just doesn't work. His confidence has been down ever since he's moved here and it's barely improved. He doesn't play with any confidence in front of goal now and it doesn't look like it's coming back.(Thought I'd address that here, not in the post-match talk)
Tomo 21,751
ยฃ101,480,000 the cost of the transfer and the 5 year deal we offered Torres. So that's a bargain price of ยฃ20,296,000 per goal.Unbelievable, seriously mind baffling. He needs a quality pass like the ones he supplied for Sturridge & Mata to get him scoring again. A tap in or lucky deflection will do, sometimes all it needs.I was at the Bridge in the home game against Birmingham & his movement was superb, I lost count the amount times he could of been played in but the likes of Meireles & Mikel just didn't see it & just played safe, Alonso was the man for Torres, he needs a quality player behind who can see that pass. The jury is still out off course but a confident Torres could just make some people eat a very large slice!

francozola 2,040
He doesn't have the best service, but it's not as if he's getting absolutely nothing at all. Whatever he gets, he always fucks it up. He either runs into a defender or takes a hopeless shot like the one yesterday. Also, he doesn't make any proper runs. Whenever fullbacks get in positions to cross, he often just stands where he is and then after the play is over complains at his bad luck. He was better yesterday but overall in his Chelsea career he's been pathetic at making any sort of decent runs manpe
