TBF i think a lot of people know that, but i don't see how this gets in the way of signing a young midfielder for double pivot, their is loads going on in the french league. Obviously things will have to be taken under consideration, as it's a new country and all sorts, but that doesn't hinder the fact the board are making stupid mistakes, lumbering themselves with Benitez just proves it. It's evident we need a midfielder, and no one is even bothering.

With Everton signing a CM from Twente, I wouldn't be surprised if we did sign Fellaini but let's wait for the window to close to draw conclusions

to be honest, i understand the board's decision here. we made a stupid mistake with loaning essien and selling meireles and then not keeping a single up and coming youngsters in the squad as a back up. even if we dont buy a midfielder right now, we ll end up having MIKEL, RAMBO, KDB, ROMEU, JOSH, ESSIEN for the next season without LAMPS. buying a midfielder seems a neccesity for the moment but in the longer we are set if we look at our options. it was just some really poor decision by the board at the start of this season which is costing us right now.

McEachran is nowhere near ready now, he should stay at Boro for another season, Mikel is crap, Ramires is a good but not great, KDB we aren't too sure yet, we can't just assume he will convert to a great CM and Essien is finished.

Look I'm all for admiring potential we may have in the squad but there's simply too much talk about KDB at the moment like he'll instantly fix the problems we've got. Not that I'm against giving the kid a chance, but he's having a good season right now, interrupting that will do no-one good.
