  1. 1. Who Is Your Man Of The Match?

MOTM for me was their left-back, Enrique I believe. Nothing came through from his side. The best out of our side was... I don't even know, Cesar or Hazard perhaps. Dave was sound defensively and Hazard looked like the most likely threat when going forward. Ivanovic would deserve a mention if he hadn't been so wasteful in possession a couple of times. But no one stood out enough for me to give a proper vote.

Our performance wasn't that bad, we gave no proper look at goal to them. Our Achilles' heel is our chance conversion, it's nowhere near good enough. If we finished the chances we created, we would be hailing our team. Sadly, that's not the case. I think we wouldn't have drawn with Terry on, we conceded thanks to disorganization once again.

Exactly, despite having most of the pressure from us on him and he's just really physical defensively, Didier would have taught him a lesson.. Ryan is no Ashley so we had to rely on the right more. Had Ashley been there we would've won I think.

Totally agree on everything, except that Cech was the best out of our side because he made 2 powerful saves and otherwise we would have been even more angry now.

RDM wasn't at fault too much, the boys couldn't finish today and let in a weak goal.

I'm laughing at Liverpool fans who are celebrating this like its a victory.

This reaffirms that we need someone lethal up front. I've had it with FT. He didn't have a bad game to be honest but Torres doesn't cut it, he's shown nought that he can lead the forward line effectively, and Sturridge doesn't get games.

I wasn't expecting us to win the league anyway, so I don't want us to get a new striker in January just in vain, unless a top quality one is available at a decent price.

It's always bad when a draw feels like a loss. Hope RDM sorts the minor details out soon. Hope JT's alright too - look how much better we looked like as a team when he was on.

We need to pick up 3 points in the league ASAP.

It's Torres's last chance, and he blew it.

My uncle who has always been a liverpool supporter his whole life, kept saying to me you can't say he's finished if you haven't played to his advantages yet, and now we have, and now he says he is definitely finished.

He doesn't make any use of space, no confidence in him, no reliability, most of Torres's goals aren't even equalises or winners, they mostly come from when we are winning 2-0 or something. Not to undermine his goals but it's a harsh reality when you look at it, he's a poor player and it's time to get rid of him.

And you are spot on, it isn't RDM's fault, Tomo summed it up perfectly, we haven't played like this in like 2 seasons now, and this time we actually deserved to win easily. Just a shame we conceded.

Title is unrealistic this season for me and always has been, yeah of course i had that hope we can do it and that's why I was so gutted when Liverpool equalised. No matter, lets just go on to next game and try to get as much points as we can and focus on other competitions.

WAY too much negativity here after a disappointing match!! I think getting off to such a strong start let some supporters get their expectations way out of whack. Top-4 was always a realistic goal for this season and still is, RDM made the right substitutions, not really much else he could do. Our problems are the same problems we've been having all season-inability to create chances. We are actually, I believe, one of the best teams at putting away our opportunities once we get them, we just aren't creating enough chances. We also are in between styles. We're not really a counter-attacking team and we're not really a possession team.

Out of our attacking three midfielders today, only Hazard played well. Our pivot was OK, but that's the best it ever really is. It's hard to play fluidly when your central midfield can't create. Our defence played well generally. Not sure why people are getting on Torres after this game. Is he supposed to get the ball at midfield and go past 4 defenders and score? Yes, he's been generally bad for us in the almost two years he's been with Chelsea, but not every instance of dropped points is down to Torres.

well deserved Member OF Month as this post shows

Torres never does anything - yet he plays every game for over 70 minutes.

You feel that if Sturridge was on for 80 minutes and Torres comes on for 10 minutes when we are chasing a result he would do any better?

Fact is we played far better before Liverpool scored and had plenty of chances to score - after their goal we were awful - and the main reason is that that RdM always making reactionary substitutions instead of bringing on players while we are still in the lead and playing better.

Mate I'm not talking about Torres, we all know he's bad – but Sturridge has to fucking do better when he comes on.

All he does is give the ball away.

It has got to be hard to make an impact when all you ever get is 3 mins here and there. Granted he got 10 mins today, but you do need some kind of form, and generally cannot just switch it on like that.

We definitely arent favourites for the title or anything, so no delusions there....

But we're definitely Title contenders this season.

We are too big a club to have expectations below that.

Atleast considering, what time of the season it is, and where we are in the table.

Cant start thinking like a Gooner.

Even if we are in transition, we have to do it in style.

How much more could he possibly do when he's only given a chance with less than 10 minutes to go? If there's one thing I think Di Matteo should be looking to improve it's his substitutions. Most of the time they're too late to have an impact on the game.

At the start of the season i would have agreed 100%

But both Manc teams look shit, this was a REAL opportunity to pull of something special.

But we are systematically blowing it by playing a 10 man team.

And we are not using our subs well enough.

I guess the negativity stems from frustration, well it does for me...

I think its getting clear that one striker comming will not be enough. Even if Falcao comes, he will have bad form or injury or...Who will step up then? Torres will obviously go far away by the time and Danny, well he is just useless with the ball. Chicarito comes in game and scores. Danny will never be like that.

So, two strikers should be priority. Say im spoiled, but what we are lacking most is scoring goals. Falcao/Cavani and Jovetic/Suarez would be perfect. And what is with the weird subs RDM is making???

Personally, I don't expect him to score a goal in that little time, but please, at least don't lose it three times.

Next game i think we should perhaps give marin and moses a start and give mata/oscar/hazard a rest, and play sturridge up front. If somehow it doesn't work then at half time we can make the changes, but we have a LOT of games coming up in the next few weeks and we cannot have everyone starting every game. Also worth considering putting moses up top.

Indeed, the good start to the season created huge expectations and some kind of bandwagon effect to our success. This post pretty much sums it up, a 3rd place this season would be totally acceptable. But today it was not really the result that bothers me, but more the way we threw the 3 points on the ground. Of course that's what to expect, but still... Good post by the way
